Unsolicited comments about your ebike lately?

Right before I saw your comment, I was watching a video review of the Lectric Xpress, an impressive bike for the money by any measure. A few family members share a Lectric Lite. The name "Lectric" blazoned in big letters across the frame never bothered me one iota. After all, it looks like an...

Unsolicited comments about your ebike lately?

There's a young hot dog in my small town (a tourist town that often gets congested) that rides a Surron or similar, doing wheelies and Cris-crossing in and out of traffic. This little affluenza twerp is getting the attention he craves, but it's not the admiration he surely thinks it is. He's...

    1UP-USA Racks - I'm a fan

This is a very useful thread. I took a close look at the photos Prairie Dog posted and the wheel arm alignment looks very similar to my Evelo Omega position. Most photos or video tutorials I've seen look fairly similar in that regard. The arms rest a little lower than I would like for complete...

    1UP-USA Racks - I'm a fan

One selling feature for me was the staggered height of each tray. It should make loading similar sized bikes easier than it was with my previous rack. What created my initial concern was the amount of sway visible in this Youtube video. I did not see this until after I installed the rack on my...

    1UP-USA Racks - I'm a fan

Thanks Prairie Dog! I thought about using a little WD40 on the metal gap slots, but I was a little concerned that might loosen the grip too much. Then again, the adjustment knob should keep it tight...I hope! I'm encouraged to hear you've been using yours successfully for a couple of years...

    1UP-USA Racks - I'm a fan

I have a question or three about my brand new 1Up Super Duty double rack. (I'm not sure this is the right thread but I'll ask anyway). I have only used the rack once, and drove about 5 miles with my Evelo Omega. The bike stayed perfectly in place although I was admittedly nervous one or both...

    Class 2 Bike Suggestions - $2000 to $4000 Range

40 MPH top speed. Does it require a license to operate? Should it require a license to operate? Should a bike capable of 40mph be allowed on bike paths/recreational trails?

    Evelo, Gazelle, or Priority

I'm not kneebender, but I'll offer an unsolicited response anyway. I'm with you on your "non-negotiable" criteria. I never liked derailleurs, even as a kid riding an analog bike. Once I started riding a belt drive IGH, (Priority Current) I realized there is no going back. I have read...

So what's the guess on the new Lectric ONE product coming March 12?

I don't like it aesthetically either, but it's much easier to get on and off the bike than the Lectric XPs. If given a choice, I'd accept a bit of butt-ugly to a pain-in-the-butt.

Evelo Omega vs Zen Photon Pro for next E Bike

Yup, nice bike! I forwarded the product link to a friend who is in the market. One more thought about the "Automatiq" on the Evelo: It works as well as I could have hoped for. It's a very nice indulgence, but I can't say it's necessary either. The downside is the cadence/torque sensor...

Evelo Omega vs Zen Photon Pro for next E Bike

I own the Omega for which I shared my impressions on another thread. I'm a fan of the bike specifically and Evelo customer service has been nothing short of stellar. With that said, I'm really impressed by the Zen Proton on paper, and might lean toward that today. The single battery capacity...

Total e-bike ban after a fatality in Key Biscayne, FLA

Very sad news. I'm confused about the context though. Is the link supposed to be for the van/bike accident?

Evelo Omega and Priority Current compared

It does not have mountain bike capability, but front suspension does not guarantee a great ride over roots n' rocks either. More often than not, I ride on dirt and/or gravel roads but not much off road. However, there is one particular trail section I ride that meets your description. It's...

    Upcoming sales?

I have the Omega, and my Priority Current is similar in most respects to the Prodigy V2. I'm not a fan of throttles myself, (I am thinking about removing it altogether from the Omega, so I can comply with local ordinances when I ride in Mass. and Maine). The Omega ride is plenty soft and...

    Upcoming sales?

I understand the upgrade bug well. I'm also suffering from cabin fever here in Northern New England. While I have not tracked pricing year to year, I can't think of any good reason why prices would decrease as the demand increases in the Spring. If you want to save money on your next...

    Hello from Folsom, CA!

I own the Evelo Omega which is on your list, and the Priority Current, which is not, but meets your stated criteria. I also owned an Aventon 500 four years ago, but their line has been totally revamped and generally improved. I'm not sure about the Aventon Adventure per se, but a close friend...

Total e-bike ban after a fatality in Key Biscayne, FLA

I was struck by this picture posted by J.R. earlier this week outside a Miami-Dade academy. WTF?? In the case of this Key Biscayne tragedy, the Affluenza virus has proved deadly. The bikes below were likely purchased by parents with more money than brains, as someone else noted. I'm not...

Total e-bike ban after a fatality in Key Biscayne, FLA

I know this is a very painful time for the family, friends and community. Still, people don't make rational decisions under emotional stress. I agree with the Galleria manager, and fewer bikes=more cars, so the vehicular accident rate likely increases over time. I know throttles are not a...

Best vehicle rack for step-thru e-bikes

Thanks! Given the cost of the bikes (not to mention the cost of the rack upgrade) the Hyperax doesn't seem too pricey, and it's marketed for e-bikes. One of the problems with the Hollywood branded rack (underscore branded, since every other adapter on the market, except the Hyperax, looks...

Best vehicle rack for step-thru e-bikes

I think I've narrowed down my choices to the 1Up or Kuat NV 2.0, but leaning toward the 1UP. I like the integrated bike stand on the Kuat, but the elevated 2nd bike platform on the 1Up is an even bigger deal for me. (I sometimes travel with two Priority Currents, and the handlebar tangle...
