    New XP Lite...

Hello everyone, haven’t posted in a while. (Just came out of winter hibernation ;)). Balsa 61, I think you made a wise choice and you’ll be very pleased with the XP Lite. If you look at some of my posts, I’ve been on the hunt for that “elusive electric folding bike with all the specs and...

    Latch 5000mile update

Hi Ed, My local Pedego store won’t be having anymore in stock until Spring and I would definitely want to test ride before deciding. Would definitely get a suspension seat post for it. I did read some reports about battery removal issues. I would definitely check into that to see if that’s...

    Latch 5000mile update

Thanks again Ed for all the info you’ve been able to provide about the Latch. It’s greatly appreciated!!

Where is that elusive folding bike?

Hi Marci Jo, thanks for your recommendation. Just when I think I have exhausted looking at every folder being made, along comes another one. The specs look really great like the new 2022 Cube Fold Hybrid. The Europeans really know how to make nice bikes. The only problem is you can’t find...

    Latch 5000mile update

Hi EdC, Thanks for the update, I really appreciate it. Seems to be a pretty solid bike. Even though I prefer a rear hub, for some reason I just keep coming back to this bike…maybe because I like the fold; seems to fold more compact than others. Have you also been satisfied with how it climbs...

motobecane ef3 vs haibike radius tour vs pedego latch

Hey Vincent, Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. As much as I’d like to purchase a good folder, I think I’ll just have to wait. I spoke to someone at FlyRides USA the other day and they may be getting a couple of Cube folders at some point in 2022. He asked me if I wanted to...

motobecane ef3 vs haibike radius tour vs pedego latch

Hi Vincent, I know this goes back a ways but when you tried out the Pedego Latch in 2020, how did it ride? You seemed to be surprised by its torque output.

    Latch 5000mile update

Hi EdC, any updates on your Latch? You still like it? Is it still riding well? I do like how it folds, just haven’t been convinced about the front hub motor and only a 3-speed IGH.

Where is that elusive folding bike?

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. My brother actually owns a couple of XP’s 2.0. I find it too big for my needs and it doesn’t fold that small especially with the 3” tires. For the price you can’t beat it if that’s the type of bike you’re looking for.

    Evelo Dash information

Interesting and great job on those profile pics. Dash definitely appears longer and bigger overall. Your conclusion might be right about Evelo making an error on the wheelbase measurement. I’m really surprised that Court has not reviewed the Dash yet. You can’t find any reviews anywhere.

    Evelo Dash information

I wonder what made the Giant more twitchy? The wheelbase on both bikes seems about the same. As far as the three-speed, it’s my understanding that Evelo had a hard time sourcing the 5-speed and couldn’t wait a whole year to offer the Dash. That’s why the 5-speeds aren’t shipping until...

    Evelo Dash information

MainlyCivil, thanks for your response. Evelo is having a Black Friday sale and I’m tempted to pull the trigger on one. Been debating between the Dash and the Pedego Latch (different beast but simpler system with the front hub and folds better too).

    Evelo Dash information

So you guys who’ve owned your Dash for a few months now, are you still happy with it? Is the Dapu mid-drive still functioning well? Do you still find that it has adequate power and enough torque? (supposedly rated at 70Nm).

Which ebike should I get for day-to-day use?

I added a Swytch Kit to a Brompton and was pleasantly surprised how zippy it was for a 36V/250w motor. I’m no bike mechanic, but found the Brompton Swytch Kit pretty straightforward to install, smooth running, with very good cadence response. It added about 5lbs to the Brompton which would...

    Evelo Dash information

Hi MuttonChops, Congratulations on your Evelo Dash with the new 5-speed IGH! Please let me know how you like it. Sorry to hear about the ALE being stolen. Glad to hear that you‘ve had positive customer experiences with Evelo. Spoke with David at Evelo one time for almost an hour. I was...

    6-sensor technology

PDoz, thanks for the info. So I wonder why auto mode would limit you to 250% boost? I read that the motor support can be fine-tuned, but maybe not in auto mode? How do you like that Yamaha motor overall. I test rode a Momentum Vida + and found the motor to be pretty smooth and relatively quiet.

    6-sensor technology

So Giant/Momentum offers 6-sensor technology on some of their ebikes. In addition to torque, speed, motor, and pedal rotation sensors, they also have slope detection and accelerometer sensors. Is anyone familiar with this? Does it really work well or is it overkill? This how Giant explains...

Folder that also rides like a regular bike

Hi ElevenAD and rich c thanks for your input. I did look at the Montague and seems like a great folding ebike. It’s just a little too big to fit two in my small sedan, one on the back seat and one in the trunk. I’m limited to the 20” wheels unfortunately. I currently have a Brompton...

Folder that also rides like a regular bike

Which brand of folding bike would ride closest to a regular bike when not using pedal assist? As I continue my search for a folder, I’m looking for a bike with decent torque. (No hub motor/cadence sensor/or fat tires). Any thoughts and insights would be greatly appreciated. I value...

Have Aveny, now adding 2 Vika + bikes to the quiver ...

Wow, I considered buying a Vika + at one point because I liked the look. Have you contacted Blix about the issue?
