Got my first flat on my Ultimate Commuter Pro

I use Tannus and love them! My riding is all on good paved roads and I've gone 20,000 miles without a flat!

    Why so few Trek owners?

I started riding an ebike in 2016 after 30 years riding road bikes, mostly with other strong riders. I enjoy browsing the forums to see what others are up to and occasionally comment when I feel I have something to add. At 62 I did not want to push so hard anymore and I am blessed to be retired...

Sealer for tire flats-Green Slime, Flat Attack, Zefal or Fix A Flat for Bikes?

I run Schwalbe Super Moto X with Tannus Armor. No flats in 10,000 miles. https://tannusamerica.com/collections/tannus-airless-tires-tannus-armour/products/tannus-armour

Toughest puncture-proof 2.0 tires or a tiny bit bigger

Tannus armour can be installed by your shop and provides protection at the center and sides of the tire. I still have my shop fill the tube with slime as well. I had one flat early on with a half inch piece of metal that managed to penetrate everything, but have gone 10,000 miles with no flats...

    Carrying spare battery

I use a Topeak MTS Bag strapped to my rack and doubly secured with zip ties. I usually carry two Bosch 500 batteries in the bag with no problems. https://www.topeak.com/global/en/products/rear-rack-bags/368-trunkbag-dxp

What’s the fastest you’ve been on your Trek ebike?

I regularly hit speeds of 40-45 on some pretty nice descents on my Trek Super Commuter 8s and feel absolutely stable. https://www.strava.com/activities/3600105423

First ebike century with my Allant 9.9s

I am 210 pounds and I usually ride carrying two batteries in my bag, that's about 12 pounds. I broke the stock rear wheel and my shop built me a new set which now have 25,000 miles on them. They work great and I run Tannus Armor to eliminate flats...

Moving to more teeth on a single chain ring

I run what would be the equivalent of a 55 tooth sprocket on my front chainring and the rear cassette is an 11 x 46 which gives me a very wide range of gears. I have done this on a Bosch mid drive and now have just shy of 30,000 miles on it. No motor problems.

    Presta Valves Too Short.......Arrrggg

You can buy tubes with longer valve stems for next time, but for now you could use valve extenders. https://www.amazon.com/Continental-Valve-Extender-2-Pack/dp/B00BCUB2QS?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00BCUB2QS

I also ride a class 3 Bosch powered bike with 29,000 miles on it. I ride purely for pleasure and come from riding road bikes for the past 30 years. Over50's Trek Allant 9.9s Chronicles

Perhaps the run flat feature would work if the bike were not so heavy. I am carrying two extra batteries in my bag.

    Over50's Trek Allant 9.9s Chronicles

The bike was unrideable. The tire was completely flat when I stopped, perhaps it was going flat for a bit before I was aware.
