With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Easy, when in doubt they just used the largest unit. They had plenty of stuff so shipping too much was rarely an issue.

About that. Chinese manufacturing cost advantages are 100 percent about lower labor costs. If the product is more amenable to automated manufacturing, like a product with no large moving parts like a battery that cost advantage will be proportionately less. It really comes down to willingness...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Where did you get the 20 grand figure from? There are numerous bespoke bicycle manufacturers in the United States. If you go all-in on a custom frame build, custom paint job, and super-fancy high-end components you might get your bike a bit over ten grand. Most of those manufacturers only...

Color me skeptical about China invading Taiwan. I would think it kind of a ballsy move to start the first war your country actually fights in over forty years with the largest amphibious invasion in history. And one also has to question with modern weapon systems and surveillance technology...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

The only reason the 2008 crisis wasn't far, far worse was that lot of government officials did their jobs and effectively responded to the disaster. Their actions were far from perfect and created many other problems in following years. But they got us out of the ditch. I have my doubts that...

Best case scenario is I wake up and this is just a particularly awful dream. But I don't think we are that lucky. Though like a lot of awful dreams many things just don't make any sense.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

The problem with your theory and world view is that these things are all interconnected. Even if you have perfect forward knowledge of how events will play out in the financial markets, if somebody somewhere else you've never heard of makes a huge (and stupid) bet that goes bad it may take your...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

All of them, or for all practical purposes all of them. The bike industry as a whole is in poor shape with a glut of products that aren't selling sitting in bike shops. There's no way anyone's buying a new tariff-priced e-bike when there are models from 2022 still in bike shops. The big...

Someone needs to take a macroeconomics and finance class. Also it would help to learn some history. The current trajectory seems to be almost intentionally courting a global economic collapse. This is utterly insane. Somehow the United States ended up with a dysfunctional Command Economy...

Has anyone tried building a hub motor wheel with your rim? Is it complicated?

If they can fit a tandem rim might be a good starting point. Also if they could fit a good MTB rim with 36 spokes, but I doubt they would fit your frame. The downside to a tandem rim is that the rear wheel on most tandems isn't dished in and is symmetric and won't fit most singles.

Has anyone tried building a hub motor wheel with your rim? Is it complicated?

I think you are looking at a lot of work to produce a workable conversion in this situation. The multiple problems are all probably solvable, but they will take time and won't be cheap. And you likely will need to buy quite a few different parts and spend a lot of time patiently experimenting...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Interesting you might say that, because I can't see how you can diversify when both stocks and bonds are going down at the same time. For that matter, most foreign markets are tanking too. Further, when both stocks and bonds are losing value things are really bad. You can argue about that but...

Is AMFLOW The Thing Or Just A Hype?

That's assuming that the dominant factor in what makes a great e-bike is the nominal power output of the motor. In fact I'd argue that in most realistic riding conditions and you have a restricted e-bike the power output is very far down the list of factors you should care about.

    Anybody tried Clik tire valves?

I don't know but when I set the bead on a tubeless tire I always remove the valve core first, pretty much regardless of what kind of valve and compressor or no compressor. Maybe you were taught differently. As for the rest of your concerns I have an expectation that adults on a group ride are...
