    Pre-/Post-Ride routine?

So yeah, I'm a dork. Doing some comparing of my ride stats, the days I had back pain correspond to prolonged periods of high-rpm pedaling. Since I've gotten better at keeping my rpm in or near the sweet spot, no back pain, minimal stretching post-ride, all good!

New Kinekt 50 Degree Comfort Stem on 2022 Vado 5.0

Um: no, and no. And the 2 components offer radically different functionality, as @Stefan Mikes pointed out. The bike is superb, I love it. The fork is junk, the fork on my Rad Rover is much better at doing anything. Glad you're happy with yours.

New Kinekt 50 Degree Comfort Stem on 2022 Vado 5.0

I am looking for a replacement rigid fork, the stock suspension fork is awful. I'd couple a rigid fork with one of these stems to reduce chatter.

New Kinekt 50 Degree Comfort Stem on 2022 Vado 5.0

That looks nice! Did you do the install, or have someone else do it? Just curious if it's a PITA or straightforward. I've been looking at the Redshift 30* stem, but this could be a solution.

    Pre-/Post-Ride routine?

Regarding "isn't necessary" - my legs would disagree with you. :) And no infirmities here (yet). Wish I could incorporate riding as part of my day, alas, IT worker, desk-bound, yada yada. Guess regarding conditioning, I'm not. Thankfully all my joints feel fine, leg muscles are a different story.

    Pre-/Post-Ride routine?

I was hoping to get a sense of what routines people go through either/both pre-ride or post-ride. By this, I mean any exercises, stretching, whatever you do to prep or recover. For context, my weekday rides are 13-15 miles, try to keep a pace of 75rpm. I make it a point to get a workout...

    Ok, I get it now...

It's all good! I sometimes jumble words/thoughts, just didn't want anyone to think I use assist instead of the gears. I'd be banished forever! ;)

    Ok, I get it now...

Believe me, I use the gears/derailleur the entire ride! (Apologies if I led you or anyone to believe otherwise.) It is essential to maintaining the pedal pace, that is something that even I as an ignorant American 🤑 know. It's the assist level I rarely touch any longer: Eco 15/100 for ~95% of my...

    Ok, I get it now...

Lately I've been thinking about how awesome it would be to have a 5.0 for the higher torque motor. But I realized the lower-power 3.0 motor is great for me, and all I wish I had was the bigger battery capacity! This lower-power motor == comfortable, meaningful exercise. I keep telling my wife...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

Works here too. I love dogs, however we have been without one for over 2 yrs now (after having them for over 25 yrs), and actually I find it therapeutic to chat, let the dog "discover" me and the ebike, and just have a pleasant interaction. It is clear when the dog and/or owner just wants me to...

Suntour NCX, another mismatch for me.

I rode both of my bikes with the Suntour seatpost this weekend, and actually thought about this thread. Just some random musings: On my Rad Rover, which is an upright riding position, the NCX is bouncier and requires more preload to smooth out. However, it's not so bouncy that it throws me...

Wrecked my Z1 yesterday - Dusted off my trusty DIY Luna BBSHD FatBike. Rides like shite, but I still love her.

Very glad to hear you're ok, but you must be part robot to go riding again after cracking ribs! I broke several ribs a few years ago in an auto accident and just wanted to be unconscious until they healed, the pain was nuts. Take care of yourself, and let your body heal!

Suntour NCX, another mismatch for me.

Guess I'm doing something wrong as I have 2 Suntour NCX seatposts and can say they work well, no issues whatsoever. Stock springs in both as they are the correct rate for my weight. Both are slightly preloaded. Riding either bike is smooth and controlled. Please do a Niagara-Falls-of-Words post...

    Greetings from CLE

Welcome! Former Clevelander here, and you nailed it - the Metroparks are truly a jewel. We used to take our dog walking in North Chagrin reservation quite a lot, and always made an effort to hit the other parks. And the CVNP. Don't miss the lake effect snow on the East side, but CLE is such an...

Hope everyone in Ian's path is ok!

$Subject, don't know who all may have been impacted, just hope everyone is safe! Here in Central NC, we got some wind and rain, nothing too bad.

Vado 5.0 owners: what are you using for a lock?

The Foldylock Classic was the longest folding lock I could find and it worked on my Rad, now used on my Vado. It's mounted on one of the bottle cage mounts. I also have a Hiplock Gold I wear for when I'll be leaving the bike for more than a few minutes (in addition to the Foldylock). Obviously...

    Ok, I get it now...

I appreciate this info, @Zekeer but I am perfectly comfortable with the Spank Spoon riser bar I installed. I got the lift I wanted, and the slight backsweep == perfect position.

    Ok, I get it now...

I'll reiterate that I have my Vado completely dialed in regarding fit, position, comfort (!). I ride and ride and experience 0 pain or issues while riding, or afterwards. And now that I have it tuned perfectly for me with quite some miles on it, I am fussing with assist - I held off and just...

    Thoughts Of An Experienced E-Biker

Very wise words, Stefan! I've ridden my 2 ebikes for some miles before making any changes - simply to know how the bike operates, how it feels, how it rides stock. Gotta have that baseline. And riding it as intended by the manufacturer is of utmost importance, e.g. your words about turning an...
