Any recommendations for a lightweight ebike conversion kit for road bikes?

In the water bottle, similar to Pedaluma's picture and about 300 effective watt-hours. At 10wh/mile, 30 mile range,

Any recommendations for a lightweight ebike conversion kit for road bikes?

I have two Tong Sheng TSDZ2 mid drives working on my bikes. One of them a Raleigh 12 speed from the 70's, but becomes a 6 speed because you lose the front derailleur, . It's a torque sensing system, so it feels much like a regular bike. Low pressure, no assist. More pressure, assist. Motor...

    configuration of the 52Vx15Ah battery?

Used 52V battery shuts off around 50V? Probably unbalanced cells. Hope it wasn't much money. Will it take a charge?

    DMO2 Conversation, Programing

On my to-do list is a DM02 install shipped last October. MIne still has an unlocked display. In November, Toseven locked down those options you're exploring. Your research might not help everyone, but I'll pay attention.

    (2) Folding bikes that can fit in back of SUV??

May 21, 2023. Temperature in the low 60's. Snow had just cleared out 10 days earlier. Gravel not yet groomed and a bit skittery in some places. 2" and 2.125" tires. We stayed in Deadwood and I could ride to the trail head. I rode it solo from Deadwood to about 4 miles past Dumont, 20 miles one...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

DM02 is torque sensing, but probably has a cadence mode. There is a cadence sensor in the TSDZ2. The OSF third party firmware offers a cadence priority mode which I optioned into my wife's bike. Works really well. When I ride it, I am surprised how much more easier it pedals than mine in T/S mode,

Rocketbalz ..., that picture is from a trip to see a buddy in The Villages in 2019. Probably lost 40 yards since then. I know it doesn't do any good, but yes., I deserve a new one.

    (2) Folding bikes that can fit in back of SUV??

They do feel quick and twitchy if you're not used to them. I got on my yellow one today after not riding it for a month and with a stiff 15 mph wind, it felt quick for the the first mile or two. Then I got back in the flow,

    (2) Folding bikes that can fit in back of SUV??

Utopia is their yellow carbon fold? I don't own that bike, but we own 20" electric folders with 2" tires. We have over 5K miles on them, and brought them with us to the Everglades and to the Black Hills. . I've put two folded up in a VW Jetta wagon, but that's a short car so the rear seat...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

In my experience with undersized and older batteries, when they get worn out, there is a large voltage sag on the cells and either the battery or the controller shuts down. It's true that higher voltage is more efficient in an ebike, but your heat came from an undersized motor spinning too...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Darn good price for the TSDZ8 at $243. Probably too darn good. On the other hand, I have had aliexpress back me in every dispute I have filed, and never had to use paypal. I'd throw the dice on it, with 42T, simplest display and brake levers. And they do say it ships out of the USA, so it ought...

The truth: How far can an electric bicycle really go on a single charge?

At 12 mph, using wattmeters, I get I 8-10 Wh/mile for a 200 lb rider and 6-8 Wh/mile for a 135 lb rider. Measured over a half dozen hubmotors. Motor size isn't a big factor, Figure 10% less with torque sensor mid drives. `

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Yeah, the motor looks cooked. I took another look at my TSDZ2B. When I roll the bike backwards, the cassette/freewheel turns the chain amd the chain gear around the pedals backwards . That eventually winds up spinning the motor thru the gear train. It only freewheels if you spin the chain gear...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

The motor really is quite small. Electrify-Bike says it's 450W max, and recommends 10 A as a max. Otherwise they burn up, Meanwhile, Electrify-bike suspended sales of the TSDZ2B with OSF firmware because of reliabiity problems. I betcha users were going 18-20A...

Fat STREET Tires are WAY BETTER for Riding on Pavement than KNOBBY Off-Road Tires

Sure, all of the above is true. If you ride a fat tire bike on pavement, use street tires. I put 26 x 3" Veeco Speedsters on my fat tire bike in 2016. Then I had Veeco Snowshoes for the winter. My tastes changed though, Haven't ridden the fat tor bike much ar all.

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

I think this is a bad thing. The TSDZ2 is (poorly) designed with lots of air between the actual motor and outer case. Some guys fill the space with heat transfer material, like copper scrubbing pads. If it feels hot, then the insides are scorched. I guess I would write it off as being cooked if...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

No idea. Have never overheated any ebike motor. I hear they smell bad when that happens though. The varnish comes off those enameled motor wires. I think they sell a motor and controller board for around $160, but you can get the whole kit for $260 shipped to the USA from pswpower.

Sedan trunk bike racks meant for 2 bikes - can they handle the weight of one light weight ebike?

Don't get the light package wired up. You can point out it's illegal to tow without trailer lights hooked up, Trunk racks can press up against the glass on hatchbacks, and bounce off the trunk when straps get loose. The clips tend to scratch the paint where they attach. In the 70's, we had...
