With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

My brokerage accounts are down big time. It's OK. On the average, they will double in 8-10 years. It's a better bet than seeing me still riding an ebike in 8-10 years. Back to tariffs. As Indianjo mentioned, with the $800 exemption removed from individual purchases, China no longer will ship...

    KTLCD3 V301G 24/36/48 not staying on

When a KT LCD3 powers up, ir puts 36V on the control pin, If your bike is 48Vm then it puts 48V there, When the controller sees that voltage, it powers up, The LCD3 then sends data ti the controller, and gets data back, This data initializes the PAS level you picked in the LCD3 for startup, It...

Brake cable. If you notice the ferrule and the lock ring both have a slot. If you rotate them, might need a pliers, so the slots line up with the slot in the lever, you can work the cable inside the brake lever. THen you retension the cable.

    first ebike

Hydraulic brakes are potentially the best. Mechanicals can always be upgraded later to hydraulics for not much money. Torque or cadence? Torque is more work. Requires real pedal effort, even if you turn it up., Cadence is always effortless pedaling if you want that. Biking enthusiasts usually...

    Can't Lock Battery Onto Bike

I don't know how the Aventon works, but when you use a pin that slides into a hole, it has to be aligned right. Some of my batteries have taken some wiggling to line up, Unless something broke in the lockm it should eventually work?

    KTLCD3 V301G 24/36/48 not staying on

The three button unit supplied with the LCD3 uses momentary contact switches, If it has to be held down, that probably means the LCD3 circuitry is at fault. There is no speed or battery data is there? Does the thermometer work? Use the runner band while you order a new LCD3. U think the LCD3 is...

Where is the controller on this Walmart ebike?

Undocumented plugs for lights have blown out the 5 volt supplies of controllers, Test/verify the pins work as expected before you use it. A relay is advised. If it doesn't already have a display or handlebar unit, you're not likely to be able to add one.

    Hello My Name is wilspeak

Looks like the Jansno that someone else here just bought except it has spokes instead of cast wheels, . While the style doesn't appeal to me,these bikes are pretty inexpensive at under $700 and appear to run as fast as advertised based on youtube reviews. I wonder if that swing arm is going to...

Where is the controller on this Walmart ebike?

This reddit thread says you can solder a throttle to three terminals on the hyper circuit board. Read down to the bottom. Or you could just put in a different controller, which will cost you about $100 up, A 20A KT controller might give you a better feel on the pedal assist, Their color...

Where is the controller on this Walmart ebike?

If you can't find it in the frame, it's probably inside the battery cradle.

Has anyone tried building a hub motor wheel with your rim? Is it complicated?

Yes, I've done over a dozen wheels now. There is a learning curve which teaches you not to give up. If you persist, every wobble can be take out, It's not rocket science. Just patience. It wasn't about cost initially, I started because I had wanted a front motor in a fat tire rim, Bike shops...

What controller to use on Jansno X50 750 watt with upgraded 52v 40 amp battery?

You'll spin the motor a little faster with 52V, but you already have a 25A controller then, I saw some youtube reviews. That bike goes pretty fast with a small hubmotor. I don't see much gain.

What controller to use on Jansno X50 750 watt with upgraded 52v 40 amp battery?

A 48V controller will run on 52V. Just put on the battery and ride. Whats the current rating on the Jasno X50 controller now? I am guessing 20-22 amps? Maybe leave it alone, If you are going to change, buy a Jansno model form their web page. The motor you have will take 52V, but it looks too...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

If ebike prices were to double, of course the market world die, but that's not going to happen. He caved on electronics, even though Lutnick is still sputtering about them. I'm picking up a new phone this week anyway.

    Riding without the motor

Walking around to the back of the big box lumber/lunchmeat store (they sell both) had me out of breath today. Rode the regular bike 4.4 miles today. Could have gone further, but It's a start.

    xt 30 connector voltage

With 52V, 48V and 36V batteries, I use 52, 48, and 36 as the halfway points. Better be turned around and going home by then. If not, it better be downhill.

    xt 30 connector voltage

Both my Lunaticks packs from 9 years ago still work though, That better not work, if the BMS is doing its job and has shut off the battery. Bad idea if the BMS lets it happen.. The insides might only be at 30V,

    Help needed!

Probably screws off like the endcaps on the Martian spacecraft from War of the Worlds. In this case, the guy untorqued the cover so he could fo it by hand. You will need a tool because when the motor turns a crank gear, it really tightens the plate, I've got a few AKM motors which also use...

    Front Bike Camera - Specifications

I see that Nvreloader likes the Akaso V50. I cheaped out and got the EK7000 in 2023. It's image stabilization was not quite good enough and the view angle was wider than I wanted.
