Your fav trails in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming?

Hey, for you EMTB (or just MTB) folks, I wanted to pass on a quick note about Big Sky ski/bike resort outside of Bozeman, MT. The day that we visited the resort it was very busy with a 25K run competition and a ton of mountain bikers. The resort has an incredible lift that will take up to six...

The goats I saw were a bit chippy with each other but made no moves at any of the folks watching them. I was within 50 feet of the group and out of my truck. Paid no attention to me at all. I spent a few years in Idaho in an area where Prong-Horned antelope are and while I never heard of them...

I see a lot of what’s happening in autos/trucks/ebikes as way overkill in my world. A lot of it is an effort to sell more services to get deeper and more consistently into your pocket. One example on my Rav4 is remote start. Used to be you could just buy a generic auto start module or an OEM...

It’s a Racktime Odin and yes its connection to the rack fits perfectly/solid though the bag can lean a bit depending on the load and/or configuration. We rode a lot of rough trails on our recent western trip and never a problem with them. It even held our bear spray at the ready the whole trip!,

My 90+ yr old father-in-law likes to say that his present set of cars (most anything actually) will “see me out”, thus lasting him till he passes. I’m wondering if my present set of CYH ebikes might see me out, but I doubt it. As I’ve said in the past, I buy a complete and workable system that...

Speaking of bears and trains, these were found in Deadwood SD. Worlds largest carved Smoky and one of the trains that used to ride the rails on what is now the Mickelson trail.

Maybe…maybe not. The jury is still out but having watched the video of Bosch’s EBIKE division CEO, I was encouraged that my CX motor MIGHT still be able to take advantage of the Smart System and the new Kiox 300 and LED controller, should I choose. Guess we‘ll just have to wait and see.

Damn…I got really close to a bunch of those! And was out of my truck!

Do you carry bear spray? I did buy a can and carried it the whole time we were out west. Saw several instances of fresh scat but the closest bears we saw were two separate instances of grizzly from about 150-200 yards away in Yellowstone and two young brown bears ( much closer) near Glacier NP...

    Trek Verve +3 issues

Hi Ed…I’m an Allant+7 owner and my only feedback is to NOT ride until your battery runs out! I always leave at least one bar (approximately 20%) left if not more like 30-40%. I had an issue very early on with my battery NOT coming out. I could still charge it of course but my LBS removed the...

Why Container Ships Can’t Sail Around the California Ports Bottleneck

Sure, let’s blame the unions, since sabotaging the port would screw their livelihood too.

    Frame breakage Vado turbo

Especially when we’re on the payroll.😂 Seriously though, Stefan, I understand your asking questions just like I question the guy with the Trek who broke all those spokes and his FAMILY had to walk 30 miles (probably in the snow of Florida)! We just don’t see how stuff like that happens!

I couldn’t tell you. All I know is I tested the Verve+3 when my wife was looking. It was very noticeably less powerful than the Allant+7. That power difference has been a godsend for me (and my wife) in climbing my normal workout route‘s hills and in our recent trip out west.

Why Container Ships Can’t Sail Around the California Ports Bottleneck

Saw a story on the LA port and they were saying a big reason for the backup is that there are 16 loads for every available truck. Way too much to move and not nearly enough trucks/drivers to move it.

We were in the Two Medicines area of Glacier Sept. 10 and took the boat ride. They closed down that weekend for the season. Lack of help is closing lots of things down very early this year and probably next year also.

Good luck. It’s certainly great country but extremely crowded, even in September. can’t imagine what June/July/August would be like next year. You better order that battery soon! It took me over 9 months to get the 625 battery. Very frustrating wait.

Lots of favs…all very different. A great (but pretty rocky) service road (Silver something?) outside of Red Lodge, MT., Rattlesnake (crushed gravel to heavy rock) trail outside of Missoula, Headwaters (light gravel to rock) trail outside of 3 Forks, the (paved) trail running by the Tetons to...

So our recent trip out to Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota was momentous in the variety of trail types my Allant+7 was taken on, the length of uphill it was ridden up, and the beauty I was riding in. Hit a milestone of 2k miles, rode a 15 mile uphill on crushed gravel, and did it all with...

    Bosch motor lower guard

Perfectly fine. Normal. Same with the CX. I have to take my whole bottom cover off as a big dead grasshopper is in there and I’m cleaning it from the trip out west.😎👍 BTW…What’s with the Allen head screw?

What is the difference between an allant 8 and 8s? I'm not able to find a comparison even on Trek's site?

My wife also insisted on a step through. Mounting may be a small percentage but it’s a pretty critical one!
