Change handlebars and stem on chinese ebike

You might want to browse the Lectric XP forum as well... in particular this thread. https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/bmxd-my-lectric-xp.35882/ Edit to add: I don't own a Lectric XP, but it seems that because the bike is very inexpensive a lot of users have taken it on themselves...

    Opinions on Gio Italia?

I can't speak to the issues with your Gio, but just an observation: here in Toronto, I see far more delivery people on e-bikes, as opposed to e-scooters. The two most popular delivery bikes that I see are the NCM Moscow and the Amego EV bikes probably account for about 20-25% of the delivery...

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Oh no worries. I'm just acutely aware because every month or so a friend of mine keeps going back and forth on looking at the Vado SL and sending me links (it would be his first e-bike, and he's a Specialized fanboy).

    Bike Weight Myth

All that weight saving, then they go and add a few grams of paint? CRAZY! :D

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Going all the way back to the first post, @timacn , have you considered EBR's recommendation of best all round city bike? https://ohmcycles.com/products/quest https://electricbikereview.com/best-city-electric-bikes/

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Oh trust me, definitely the Cdn site. Specialized make great bikes, but they are NOT "pretty careful" with their online presence. ;) It took them the better part of a year to catch most of it, but to this day, the Vado SL (4.0 and 5.0) still have US speed and range in the "read more"...

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Ah... that's my fault. I misread the OP when they said "...Cannondale Tesoros that were made for Canadian distribution (Canada also reportedly only allows Class 1 machines) might be floating around but I haven't found any." Jumped the gun a bit. :)

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

Can't speak for Sondors - maybe? I've only seen one on the roads here in Toronto. :) I haven't looked into it in a while (over a year?), but getting a Luna shipped to Canada is prohibitively expensive, and Bolton will only ship Biktrix to Canada (probably directly from Biktrix in Canada). By...

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

The OP was asking about Canada, so "pretty much all" is (sadly) a fair statement.

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

I don't know what's going on with Specialized here in Canada. Specialized has had the Vado SL 5.0 on their Canadian site since launch listing it with the 28mph limit no less, but talking to a couple of dealers they said it wasn't coming out here (this was in spring 2020). It was just the 4.0...

CLASS 1 EBIKES: A VANISHING BREED?

If you are fine with only a "semi-integrated" battery instead of one hidden in the downtube, you can the 2020 (or is it 2019) Kona Dew E at some stores in Canada. Same E6100 motor and 504wh battery capacity. Almost all the specs, including weight (a pretty svelt 43lbs) are the same as the...

Which Bikes Would You Like Reviewed? Opinions Needed!

Volunteering is its own reward? Then again, so is sniping from the sidelines, apparently. :) Seriously though, an EBR fan let Court review his Giant Stance E+ 2 2021 model, because it's just difficult to find new bikes in stock. https://electricbikereview.com/giant/stance-e-plus-2/ They might...

The Good Things You Have Bought ver. 2

Just picked up this last week... It's more expensive than most saddle options, but since I ride with a Redshift ShockStop seat post, anything that required a seat post Velcro loop was out of the question. https://road.cc/content/review/241258-silca-seat-roll-grande-americano My SQLab...

Which Bikes Would You Like Reviewed? Opinions Needed!

I'm surprised there's never been any Norco reviews on EBR, that I've seen. The Scene VLT and Indie VLT strike me as an interesting urban rides, and their eMTBs look solid too. Feel free to send me a review model. :)

Do You Have One of These?

Dr. Pickles is either lying around, usually belly up, but he DOES love the rear rack of a bike. Can't keep the bike bags on there, or he'll pluck 'em.

E-bikes under fire as fatalities climb in NYC

The time of day makes a big difference, IMHO. I'm extra paranoid when riding in "high glare" situations like that.

Does anyone here "name" their eBikes?

I haven't officially given my OHM Cruise a name, though "Mustang" does come to mind occasionally. My Spark Mini fat folder is "The Mule", so maybe I SHOULD make the Cruise "Mustang" to stick with the equine theme. :)

    Shoes and pedals, I'm confused

I personally think so. The FiveTens that others have mentioned are much better than regular shoes. They're essentially sneakers with a much stiffer and heavier sole, along with a really grippy texture. I find they "stick" to the pedal a lot better than regular sneakers, so a lot less foot...

    Shoes and pedals, I'm confused

Just out of curiosity, what kind of pedals does the new e-bike come with? I'd say don't even worry about it until the bike arrives. Then once you've ridden it a few times, you'll have a better idea of where you might want to change things up, to make a better ride for you.
