Does the display go off momentaily as well? If so, it could be voltage sag on the battery at high current levels when going uphill. If you drop below LVC, either the BMS or Controller will shut down until voltage recovers.

You could try Amego who show them on their web site. However, I would call them as the prices look a bit crazy (eg same price for a motor in the wheel as for a bare motor)...Also see they sell gear/clutch assembly if that's what is needed...

Thanks...I just ordered the tool from MEC as well. I inherited an Amego Infinite+ (basically a Milano+) that has a problem with the Freewheel. I'll take it off and see if it can be repaired (using guidance from University of Youtube) and if not, will get the new one you pointed to.
