Help! Bought a used ebike with battery/BMS issues..

Can you provide a source for this information as it's contradictory to all I've read. Are you saying this information is provided by Radpower? If so, I'd be very interested in seeing it. Most low cost batteries lack any balancing ability... But if quality matched cells are used, it's not an...

Has anyone tried the new Rohloff E14 Trigger Shifter

Yeah I'd have to agree with Chazalinó Typical cable trigger shifter you push forward to the lower gear. The Rohloff twist is how you would think.. Roll forward to the higher gear. This said after a week of riding it will become second nature and won't hurt anymore 🙃

    Toseven DM02 on classic Raleigh

Old school lookiń good! Curious... why didn't you mount the battery on the seat tube.. below the top tube or even above it? And I think @PedalUma has the programming bugs all figured out so changing the throttle to full power regardless of PAS may be possible now. Enjoy!

Help! Bought a used ebike with battery/BMS issues..

If it's at 100% then it has no problems. How are you determining this? I would read the voltage at the output terminals to better understand it's condition. If it does have storage related issues you may be able to coax it back to reasonable health by slow charging. I doubt very much that your...

    Greasing the bafang ultra

It used to be that Bafang was notoriously stingy with the factory grease... That doesn't seem to be the case as of late. That said waiting for noise and it may be too late. https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/re-greasing-the-ultra-motor-is-it-time.53414/

    How about greasing electrical connectors?

I understand that it can be ok... But it's not guaranteed not to be a problem in all cases or in the future. Best practice is just that... Just because something works doesn't mean it's correct to do so. I rarely torque anything to spec other than handlebar/stem and never have a problem. But...

    How about greasing electrical connectors?

True... But at best with new connections that will be mated once and done. Also keep in mind that higher voltage and/or current are more prone to arching and that's why you should avoid all "contaminants" And with sensitive low voltage/current you can actually increase the required low impedance...

    How about greasing electrical connectors?

I put that s*it on everything! Great as a lubricant, sealant and as described above. I buy food grade so I can use the same on my aquarium and plumbing O_rings etc.... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CI88AZ4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_title

    How about greasing electrical connectors?

You should not put dielectric grease on the electrical conducting mating part of electrical connections. Though as mentioned it can be pushed out of the way by the mating, it's still not the recommended manner of application. Especially true if the connection mating will be cycled. The proper...

    Gas cans and fun findings.

I thought it was just me totally piss'd with "modern" gas cans. The spring loaded nozzles make it frustratingly long to fill anything and always with spills. I gutted them so that it's basically a nozzle but the rest of the cap and gaskets leak if not painstakingly aligned and the design is...

Is $800 a reasonable price for a beginner ebike?

Not being able to source a battery can render the bike useless so that's no small consideration. On the shifting.. it sounds like the limit screw needs to be backed out or the cable is too tight/damaged... that or the hanger is bent. Low gear may be needed to get home if you're having too...

Supernova M99 lights with Bafang ultra

I believe it's even lower than that. Last spec I came across was 6v / 500mA x 2 (front - rear) That said on my Ultra bike I tapped the battery wires just before they enter the controller with a 4a fuse and wired the lights directly. I didn't want to use the display to switch On/Off the lights...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

Park makes a mount facing tool to make these fine adjustments... but it's expensive +$500US If you're using caliper spacers I would try filing them as an inexpensive alternative If it's a thru_bolt you can try and source something like this elevator bolt and put the nuts on the other side...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

One thought. . . If you look at the outer most edge of the rotor you see it dips in reducing the contact area just about at the widest part. Perhaps the same is happening on the inner edge purposely. This may be for cooling and to shed dust build_up That said my Tektro and Rohloff rotors don't...

Is $800 a reasonable price for a beginner ebike?

A UL listing is never a bad thing and is a safety certification... so yes if authentic it should be ok to keep the battery indoors. I belive you can verify the certificate of their website. https://www.ul.com/cere-search-certificates I keep many uncertified batteries indoors but they come from...

Is $800 a reasonable price for a beginner ebike?

That's pretty much bottom of the barrel as far as quality. I spent more than that for a diy reliable motor and descent battery kit. If you are looking in the $1000 price range you better be familiar with bike maintenance and repair and know your way around basic wiring as well as you'll be on...
