First Time Buyer with Decision Paralysis

We spend a lot of the winter in the Los Angeles area and found an Aventon dealer there. We now own 3 of their bikes. They are the step through version and have enough power to get up and down the hills close to the beach. Whatever you chose make sure there is a dealer or local bike shop...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

I did a lot of research on bikes, especially bikes that would be excellent in very hilly and mountainous terrain. After weeks of reading, researching and talking to different companies I went with the Photon Ultra. I cant wait to get it in Idaho and tackle some of the mountain roads that I...

First e-bike for a 68 year old - buying help needed

I looked at Evelo and Zen and went with Zen. Evelo bike was also great but I did not want an automatic transmission. Good people and customer support with both companies.

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

He told me that he had talked to Bafang and that the version of the controller they are getting from Bafange was a version that required a special tool to reprogram, it is not the version where you can change the motor using the display. I understood that it also wasnt the CAN version, so I...

So is that something you would use if your frame was not configured for the M620?

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

I asked the question as I have read that there is a CAN version of the M620. Since this bike is assembled in Canada there is a chance that they are using the Canada (CAN) version. In addition I read on a bafang website that the new displays and motors allow the rider to switch from road to off...

    M620 Step Through

Which bike companies offer a reasonably good step through EBike with a Bafang M620 1000w motor that is not the CAN version? Hopefully a company that uses good quality parts and has a good customer support group.

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

The Ultra comes with a Bafang 1000watt M620. Is it the CAN version which cannot be adjusted other than a few settings like wheel diameter and max speed? If so how do we get an off road version as the CAN version is set at 750 watts? Is it possible to get a non CAN version?

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

Even though I ordered the upgraded tire, I am assuming that they don’t come slimed. From a long ride perspective I am a slime fan. I know you can find presta to schrader adapters but sliming and maintaining prestas can be a pain.

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

What type of tube (or tubeless?) is included with the bike? I am assuming that it might be a presta valve type. Is it possible to get schrader tubes?
