    Oops,..

SW I figured that it was some type of critter, seeing the bottom jaw was pegged to hold it in place, I was thinking of Barn rats...lol If I lived around there, there would be a shortage of tree rats, my favorite critter to thump, my Aussies would go crazy treeing them.

    OLD school bike bearing question

Thanks Guys I just checked and the axles on both are the same tpi, so I can reuse the OEM cones/bearings with the longer axle. That makes life simple now. I have spent the couple of hours attempting to fit a quik link into the OEM chain, 7 spd, it is a solid chain with no quick link, (Old...

    OLD school bike bearing question

PC I like loose ball bearings and know how to set them up. I sure don't like those caged bearings that came with the new axle, JDLR, they seem like they are too small for the cones, in either size. I have a small box of assorted bearing sizes coming, and will find the best size for this front...

    OLD school bike bearing question

I finally got all the parts required to change over to the suspension fork, I think, and up jumped this problem. I am changing out the front axle to a solid axle (No front skewer type as before), the new axle set set came with 7-1/4" and 7- 3/16" caged bearing sets, the OEM original front...

Tis better to have mirrors than not.

UCB I have 3 cameras on any bike I ride, Front, Rear and helmet mounted. The local jerks that used to throw bottles at me when they passed by, now give me a wide birth. I have been thinking on a mini license plate for that reads, "Smile, you'r on candid camera". ymmv

    Thanks Jeremy McCreary

Jeremy and his little Hot water gremlin, decided to visit me, now it's a wood stove gremlin. It cause all kinds of hate and discontent, took both the horizontal blowers out, bronze bearings on each ends are shot. They must think these blowers are made of Gold, between $300-500 for 2. I am going...

Inner tubes. Our friend AND enemy.

I have had 2 of those self contained air pumps, both have broken (won't work) in less than a yr of no use, (just be carried in my tool pack on the bike.) I now have a dependable air pump that works off my bikes battery voltage and also carry co2 cylinders for back up, if needed.

    Thinking real hard on this...

Thanks ArtDeco, The rat hole funds is slowly building up, but the main wood stove fan just quit, I don't know yet how bad this mess will be, down to 14* for the last couple of nights, I got a square fan for a temp fix for heat, works OK for now. Better half likes her wood stove, so no option...
