Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO vs SL Comp Carbon?

There are only 3 things different between the Comp Carbon EVO and the Comp Carbon; the dropper seat post, the flared bars, and the wider tires. Everything else is exactly the same (well, except for the colors). I test rode both models and they ride very much the same. The dealer told me the...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Yesterday I did a bit of exploring on the Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail that runs through our area of southern Arizona. It's a gravel trail, some sections are smooth while others are real sketchy. I rode 16 miles at an average speed of 9 mph and when I got home I found I had 97%...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I have 23mm tires on my Wilier as the rear is so tight a 25 won't fit. The difference between those and the 38 gravel tires on my Creo is like night and day.

When was the last time you rode an acoustic bike?

Once a week when our swim team gets together for a ride. It's a casual ride, 30 miles max, with no climbs of any consequence. I have no need for the boost so it's just as easy to ride my regular road bike.

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

Ok, I'm back home and checked my Mission Control and yes, it shows Eco, Sport, and Turbo.

My Creo actually came with PLASTIC pedals, on a $6,500 bike!

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

I can’t check as I’m out of town for a week and Mission Control has to connect to the bike to report settings.

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

My SL Comp has none of those issues. No squeaks, no gearing problems. I can’t believe what a quality product this is. It’s miles above my Yamaha Wabash and I was impressed with it, just a bit heavy.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

So 30.6 lbs for an SL Carbon Comp EVO. I make that assumption based on the color. My dealer said the dropper post adds about a pound so my SL Carbon Comp should come in at 29 lbs.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I just received a phone call from my Specialized dealer. They couldn't figure out how to change the setting so they contacted Specialized support. Their answer was that it can not be changed to a different setting on initialization. Using Mission Control I have set up a custom boost profile. If...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

My Creo SL always boots up on level 2. Does anyone know if that can be changed to boot up to level 1? I haven't found any option in Mission Control that would control that. I can set up different boost profiles but I find nothing that controls the boot setting.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I was told there would be a 2-3 week delivery on my Creo SL Comp. I stopped by the shop on Tuesday (1 week + 1 day) to ask if they had a shipping update and was told the bike was just delivered that morning. They would have to build it but would have me riding by the weekend. Then they called...

Using Heart rate with Mission Control, Smart Control

I'm headed out for a ride so I'll see if the Mission Control app picks up the heart rate.

Using Heart rate with Mission Control, Smart Control

TCD = Turbo Connect Display. It's the Specialized computer that wirelessly connects to the TCU controller on the Creo. It tracks and displays distance, speed, cadence, power, etc. It will also track heart rate but I can't get it to read from the Apple watch.

Using Heart rate with Mission Control, Smart Control

To continue this theme: Can either the TCD or Mission Control pick up heart rate from my Apple watch? The TCD directions say a chest monitor but when I run Strava from my watch it seems to pick up my heart rate.

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

I love the Oregon coast. There's something about it that you could identify it in a photo without being told it's location. It's the same with the California coast south of Monterey.

Yamaha PW speed unlockers... SpeedBox2 vs EPlus vs BadAssBox 4 or 3.4

What year bike? Is the speed pickup the magnet on spoke or the new hub mounted sensor? I tried one of those on my '19 Wabash with the hub mounted sensor with no success. Now I'm wondering if it might have just been a bad unit.

How do you use e-power on your e-bike?

For me, the ebike boost is just to assist my aging body (72). I ride almost exclusively in the lowest setting. Today we did 52 miles at an average speed of 14.4 mph and I only used 27% of the battery. That's just short of 2 miles per battery percent, or about 2.5 Wh per mile. I'm in it for the...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I took two test rides before I made the commitment. I really had to concentrate to hear the motor noise and even then it's just a soft hum. Much quieter than the motor on my Yamaha Wabash and the Yamaha motors are billed as being quiet. I can't compare it to the Vado.
