Battery in front basket? Pros & Cons?

I’m not entirely sure what you are buying based on their website. In one section it’s states 4 piston brakes, then the specs say 2 piston (more probable). ditton the tyres, you pay a big premium to get The conti or Schwalbe tyres they talk about. 1000w hub motor and 80 mile range from a 10ah...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

I know a couple of users on EMTB forum said their data was a little off, but that was down to poor phone connectivity (phone in pocket), and hours later the data seemed to correct itself (although not the breadcrumb trail, presumably due to the GPS signal loss).

    Why is Slime a problem

two things to remember with sealants is the lifespan and the temperature range they work in. Some sealants have six month lifespan , others longer. Lifespan is affected by temperatures , so make sure you have something suitable to your locality. If you store the bike over winter you may find...

Change bike's front chainring to increase top speed?

There is no mention on Fouriers of the tightening torques for any of their chain rings,, at least not in their parts catalogues - perhaps an email to their technical personnel ? Other than needing a longer chain to account for the larger chain ring, i can't see that causing any further issues...

    Why is Slime a problem

I guess there's similar wording in every bike company policy; my local Giant retail store sell 4 different kinds of tyre sealant - now you can bet that is someone wants to buy some to convert to tubeless or to put into tubes they don;t say " no sorry, thats only for these bike models.." Its...

    Solid fork mounts on allant8s

My Giant Fastroad EX Pro has a single attachment each side on the solid front forks, and one in the middle which takes the light and fender bracket. Bear in mind these mounting points are all fine, but there is a max gross weight for the bike (156Kg for rider, bike and luggage in my case; Trek...

Bike frame broke. Can anything be done for this?

On the basis that’s the base of the seat at the top of the photo above, where‘S the actual seat post tube? Surely there should be 12” of tube running from the seat base down and , in the case of a low seat position, into the frame. I can’t see how, if the seat was set low with plenty of seat...

Vado 5.0 SL - replacement tire?

I’m sure Vado owners will have plenty of options, but a few https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/schwalbe-durano-e-road-tyre-raceguard/rp-prod128949 https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Schwalbe-Little-Big-Ben-RaceGuard-E-25-Endurance-Performance-Wired-700c-Hybrid-Tyre_101413.htm

Hello - another UK e-bike newbie here

25 days since collection - odometer reading 21 miles. In fairness I didn't ride it the first 10 days due to the app not working, bike firmware and software updates needed. All sorted in 30 minutes at Giant Bristol service dept. Two 10 mile rides with the wife since. Our plans for the weekend...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Yes lots of N&T on eBay. shipping costs lol I bet it’s about £5 to send to Poland, even 3 day express tracked would be under £10 I’d imagine.

    Love my Allant+7 BUT...

The one in my LBS has the silver finish, adjustable stem and suspension seat post. Schwalbe g one tyres. Great bike but the m frame a smidge too small for me. And the £3199 price tag (US$4200) didn’t suit me too me either

    Winter storage

A heated garage is fine, you might want to consider placing the batteries in a metal ammo case for extra safety

What will you do for security?

I have that one too, it’s pretty loud; at least loud enough to draw attention. Hidden under the seat so it’s very discrete. Coupled with a kryptonite d lock and cable. We also have a wearable belt chain lock

Tire Pressure: Rolling resistance or comfort?

If the tyres are 28 x 1.75” or 47-622 ertro size then I’d expect the sidewalls to be showing something like 45-70psi as their recommended operating range . for a 160lb rider 62psi seems rather high , I’d try dropping them to 50-55psi and see how that feels. I suspect you’ll find something like...

    Looking at E biking

I've no experience of either, but am a distant admirer of the Lectric XP - it seems to be well regarded, pretty robust and reliable and those who have them love them both in stock form and modified. Neither version has a particularly high step over height so its down to personal preference on...
