    Need suggestions for fast ebike

Our commutes have a lot of overlap. I ride from south Carlsbad to UCSD, 18 miles each way. I think the Wattwagon would be closest to your specs and @pushkar told me that he'd be willing to do a drop bar conversion. I was thinking about getting one myself. Currently I ride a derestricted...

    Interchangeable Seats?

Seats are generally interchangeable. If you want to swap the whole seatpost/seat combination you need to make sure the posts have the same diameter. It is usually stamped onto the post, below the "max" mark. Different models from the same maker don't necessarily have the same seat tube diameter.

    Bosch spare parts

Thanks! I know Scooteretti and have bought from them before but that other place seems like what I am looking for. Gotta brush up my high school French again...

    Bosch spare parts

Is there a source for uncommon Bosch (or compatible) spare parts? I got my battery replaced on warranty earlier this year. Bosch did not want the old battery back and the only thing wrong with it is a bad connector. I'd like to keep it as a backup and am looking for a source that sells the...

How many miles do you have on your ebike?

Got my answer today! Switched to 10k miles and now I have no more decimal point.

Xlc Evo rear hub assembly (Haibike)

It is not just Haibike. Most makers will put the high end stuff where it is easily seen, like derailleurs and cranks and then save money on the not so flashy parts, though those are often the ones where you would like better quality. So you'll see many bikes that sport Deore XT or even XTR or...

    E-Horn?

The horn and lights arrived this week. Unfortunately they required an adult signature so I had to wait until Friday when I had time to swing by the post office. The horn came with no instructions whatsoever. As you can see in the picture, not even a box. Really seems to be made for OEM/factory...

    Bosch sprocket/lockring upgrade

I don't think you do. I have only seen pictures of this guard, never seen one in person. I'm curious as to how it is attached.

    Bosch sprocket/lockring upgrade

Check the picture from earlier up. The 20t has the edge of the chain flush with the Miranda guard. Good enough for me. I did make a modification, though, because I had the occasional chain drop and it got stuck between the sprocket and the Miranda guard. I cut a thin plastic disk to fill the...

    Bosch sprocket/lockring upgrade

Yes, those SRAM sprockets are much better quality. I have an 18t one as well but could not find any bigger ones. But this came with a washer that I am using under the Connex 20t now. I am keeping the SRAM as backup.

    Bosch sprocket/lockring upgrade

I also get around 1200 miles per chain, on average. Like Alaskan, I replace the chain when I hit 0.5% stretch according to my Park tool. When sticking to this regimen I get about 5k miles per cassette or more. I'm approaching 10k miles on my bike and am on the third cassette. I got those cogs...

How to replace old broken hydraulic brake body with a new one

It is a fairly simple job IF you know what you are doing and have the right tools. Probably better to give it to your LBS. Especially if you have a model that uses DOT brake fluid instead of mineral oil, things can go south quickly...

    Bosch 400wh battery - $350 (Phoenix, AZ)

I tried. There was none nearby. I even drove to the FedEx and UPS local hubs. Very frustrating.

    Bosch 400wh battery - $350 (Phoenix, AZ)

You're lucky! I tried that and UPS turned the shipment around after one day and returned it to me.

    Trek Allant+ 8S -2020 Model - Amazing style and value at $4299

And what is the deal with those token, low profile racks? If I'm going to have a rack for bags etc. I want a full size one, where I can strap something to the top and/or hang any pannier I choose from the side.

    Cable Management (ideas ?)

The spiral wrap came standard on my Haibike. I had not seen or used it before but I really like it. The flexibility to enter and exit cables at different points is nice and I find that the split loom is prone to making plastic rattle noise.

How active were you in August?

I have one very nice hill on my commute. When the wind is right you can break 50 there.

How active were you in August?

I was home alone most of August because my family went on vacation. Unfortunately that required me to take the car a couple of times when I would have normally taken the bike.

    E-Horn?

That’s where I ordered it. It’s on the way.

    E-Horn?

Could not find anything anywhere. But it should mount on a number of holders. I’ve found some photos of mods online. I’ll scan and post any instructions that come with it.
