How much do the lightest e-bikes weigh?

Looks good. Will be interested to see how you like it, over the long term.

10 Different bike saddles, and still a sore ass

You must have quite the ass 🫣 I always wonder if a problem like that is due to a lot more factors than just the saddle (like bike fit, good padded chamois shorts, fitness level and health, etc)?

There’s a thread about chain lubes https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/ebike-chain-lubes.26667/ I’m using Maxima chain wax, and only have a few rides in, but so far it’s awesome. I’m not willing to do the more complex waxing technique (removing chain, heating up wax, and soaking) ...

Just changed to waxed chains instead of grease, and I’m shocked how much better it sounds and feels to me. It just about as quiet as my carbon belt bike, so very happy!

We all have a perspective based on our own experience, and what is right for me might be different than that for someone else. Too many out there that think they “know it all,” and I try to catch myself sometimes also from doing that. Regarding the OP, my opinion is that both Specialized and...

    Ebike Chain Lubes

Great recommendation.Relatively inexpensive, so just gave Maxima chain wax a try, and the chain now sounds almost as quiet as my carbon belt drive bike. Seems like it does reduce the friction, and even if I’m imagining it, reduces the watts needed to keep moving ;)

I’d also say the e-bikes are much better for those of any age, for two key types of situations: 1) if you need to commute and are short on time so need a faster average speed, or don’t want to be really sweaty, and 2) if you have very hilly or mountainous roads, which might require a high...

If you were me, which Turbo Vado SL would you buy?

Especially for a flat bar bike, I have always gone for the smaller size (if on the edge of either), since it’s easy enough to adjust the seat height, and use adjustable stems if needed. Btw, the yellow color is sweet, and as a side benefit might make you easier on the road by drivers!

 Hope you get things sorted out. With higher complexity and newer technology, there are more things that could break, unfortunately. I keep getting tempted to get a new lightweight geared bike (Specialized, Trek, Scott or Lemond) to do more severe climbing, but stories like these keep...

Bummer, about the problems you’ve had with your bikes. Given the high price and the benefits of an LBS, I would have thought that there would not be so many problems. Any chance you could find a better authorized Specialized LBS to work with? (Would think a capable LBS would assemble and check...

How much do the lightest e-bikes weigh?

I am addicted now to the joy of riding lightweight bikes, and have both a lightweight e-bike, and lightweight analog (traditional) bike. I have the Ride1UP Roadster v2, and I hear they do ship to Canada. Starts at $1100, and weighs ~33 lbs. Have had a great experience with mine, and customer...

Experienced biker but new to e-bikes

These were the things that worked out for me, after trying multiple grips and setups. Like these grips for the multiple grip positions for long rides, and the adjustable stem allows trying different angles and heights.

Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH - The Nightmare Continues

💯 % Any LBS or online brand can have a problem with an individual bike. Depends on what your LBS or you personally have the ability or perseverance to deal with. And how much💰 you have. I really like the designs of some of the Specialized and other big brand bikes, but I start to get concerned...

    Speed vs battery life

For really high intensity exercise (near my limit), I’ve found that I need a guu gel and/or a nutritional bar every ~45 minutes to an hour, and regular hydration, to not bonk and have legs/knees/calves major fatigue and recovery needed. This is for longer rides, with a fast group or solo...

    700 x45 for pavement only . Any recommendations ?

Got I’m guessing 5000+ miles out of a pair Schwalbe Marathon GreenGuard e-bike rated tires, without a single flat, and with fairly low rolling resistance. Highly recommended for road and city use. p.s. - lighter and significantly lower rolling resistance than the Marathon Plus, while having...

    Speed vs battery life

^ this ^ One of the best things about having an e-bike is that it’s perfect for a “recovery day” ride, at higher assist. After an intense analog traditional bike ride, can get in a good recovery day e-bike ride in, to keep the legs moving without overdoing it. Or, same if after doing an intense...

    Speed vs battery life

It’s so user and bike dependent, with so many variables, it’s really suited to your own experimentation. Fun experiment I recommend people try: - get up to speed on roughly level ground, preferably 15 mph or so - try to maintain a consistent pedal output - start from an upright riding position...

    Speed vs battery life

Yes, I was referring to my Strava rides with a SS traditional bike w/ cadence, speed, heart rate and gps data. (Also have a SS Ride1UP Roadster v2 E-bike, but ignoring it for the power discussion. And had two geared bikes, but just donated the one with a derailleur since I don’t ride it anymore...
