Not only isn’t an SL1 medium not available, the SL 2 also isn’t available near me.

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

I agree. It’s not a comparison. I love riding my Sl1 but as I’ve aged I frequently wish it had a bit more power. My wish list had been for the same bike with the 1.2 motor. But that bike wouldn’t have the range I need, though with the RE it would come close. For me, my SL is a fitness bike...

    Helmet Safety Protection Ratings

I’ve been using an pedelec rated Lazer Urbanize helmet for a few years. It has a face shield which helps as I wear glasses and my prescription makes cycling glasses very expensive. While it isn’t very well ventilated for very hot weather it does came with winter parts to limit airflow and ear...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Sounds like my e-bike group. (E-bike Lovers of Washingoon DC. Shameless plug.) On a recent group ride four of the eight riders were on Vado SLs. And none of us were spring chickens. Without permission, the group in Vienna VA, USA

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Oops. I forgot the problem occurred during charging. I agree with your suggestion that the issue is with t(e electronics in the battery. Since you have plenty of spares, you probably won’t get suck with a dead battery on one of your rides. Did you bring it into your dealer? They may be able...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

This is speculation. The problem, if it recurs may be the cable, not the battery.

Definitely. When I first go the bike I rode it at the dealer recommended 70 psi. When I learned lower pressure is better, I switched to 60 and then 55 PSI. Major improvement in riding experience. I’m going to follow your suggestions to lower pressure further next week. (Busy family weekend.) I...

Did you try the calculator for your very different riding conditions and weight? I’m very curious.

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

I just discovered (thanks to GCN Tech video) the Vittoria tire calculator (https://vittoria.com/pages/tire-pressure). The results are interesting in that they take more account of the types of bike and conditions under which they are ridden. My results with this calculator are closer to 60 psi...

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

Great discussion folks. I may be old, but I’ve only been riding as an adult for about 6 years and definitely have no real bike knowledge other than what I’ve learned here and elsewhere online. The folks I ride with are mostly not that interested in the bikes themselves so this is where I get...

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

Inhave a question. My tires' with tubes are labeled 50-80 PSI. I generally use them at 55 psi. The calculator suggests 41-51 PSI. Am I right that going that low would cause problems including snake bite punctures and damaged sidewalls? Would it safe on asphalt to run at less then my current...

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

My SL1-4eq has been terrific for most of my needs, even though I’ve had issues with the longer steep hills craved by younger members of my Ebike rider’s group rides. But as I age, I’m now 77, I am finding that I can’t ride my regular routes all in Eco mode anymore. Perhaps it’s just the cold...

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

Assuming I could afford to buy a new $5k bike, even with a trade in of my SL4EQ 1.1, I actually am concerned about the extra weight. I hang my bike on my garage wall with a Zero G rack. I can lift my bike but it is a challenge. I’m just not that strong at this point in my life. Lifting an extra...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

As if the year designation would lessen Specialize branding confusion. 😉 I‘d be amazed if any salesperson at any LBS older than 40 could keep it straight. Especially if they carry other brands.
