Appreciate the mea culpa :) and yes, I think ALL equities are a risk in the current environment, the markets hate uncertainty

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Well, I own utility stocks and many high dividend paying stocks, ETFs etc. but I was looking for a place to park some cash short term at 4.99%. Best I can find around here is in the low 4's. I sold my QQQ's at 530 a share. Today it's at 444. I saw the writing on the wall. Again, not going to...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

The NASDAQ is already in a bear market and the SP500 is teetering on the brink. Yes, quite difficult to "diversify" in a bear market such as this and expect to break even, much less see any gains. A bear market is one that sees 20% losses. We are there. In fact I'd argue I'm well diversified if...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

I don't think the tariffs have actually hit yet. Some vendors now applying "trump tariff surcharge" to visible price tags.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

trump is now saying he'll send "the home growns"to the El Salvador prison w/o due process if he determines they are gang members. This is unbelievable. Marco Rubio said people can be deported for their beliefs alone. This is getting pretty scary here.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Oh yes, Americans are going to be so much better off with the tariffs, when exactly does "the golden age" start? RIght now, my golden age is seeing 20% losses in my retirement fund.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

LOL.. To be clear, there was gerrymandering in only one Democratic state: Illinois, for a total advantage of 1.7 seats. But there was serious gerrymandering in six Republican states, for a total advantage of 13.2 seats. Republicans tried hard to gerrymander themselves into a majority and succeeded.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

If Stefan isn't from here, he probably has no knowledge of gerry mandering as well which is simply political manipulation of electoral boundaries which skews results in favor of the GOP

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

since when is 1.5% a "vast majority"??? Without republican gerry mandering, I wonder what the results would have been

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

It's not what I voted for but sadly, the rest of the world assumes we all voted for trump

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Most here (and elsewhere) are not builders. If they can't buy a ready to ride e-bike, they won't buy period.. Before covid and when I bought my 1st e-bike, prices were high, now they are low but I'm afraid it's only going to be this way for a short time. I have two e-bikes but if I was in the...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Well, computers, phones etc. have been exempted for 90 days but not e-bikes. Not sure the market will bear doubling the price of our bikes. Opinions?

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

Sounds like it may not be as feasible as I had hoped. Oh well, I can live with CANBUS but I'm envious of those that can make changes to smooth this ultra motor and power delivery out.

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

How expensive to convert CANBUS to UART? I'm thinking new controller, new display, new wiring but should be able to keep the motor?

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

I really wish I had a UART motor. I'm not even sure if it's possible to adjust any settings with CANBUS except for really basic stuff

    2022 - Top 12 Bafang Ultra M620 Ebikes

Unfortunately I think manufactures are shy to put the M620 in their bikes for legal reasons. Of course they can always add the disclaimer "for off road use only" as many do but that's a bit of a joke when you see urban bikes with the M620, obviously made for street or trail use

Fat STREET Tires are WAY BETTER for Riding on Pavement than KNOBBY Off-Road Tires

Depends where you ride I guess. I've never had a flat with street tires. Knock on wood.
