Torque for Trek Allant 9.9s Crank Arm Bolt

Though I haven’t ridden it in about a year, I have a 9.9s in my garage. I don’t recall hearing anything about the crank arm falling off, but there was a recall related to pedals not being torqued properly at the factory. I got a notice, but checked mine and they seemed fine.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

Actually, my wife has a Rad Class 2 with a cadence sensor. I’ve ridden it, but I hated it with a passion. I really don’t know why the throttle is needed, as it takes almost zero effort to pedal. Wanna get through the intersection quickly? Just tap the darn pedals. The only reason I’ve ridden it...

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

Sure, but that’s just a smug roadie who knows nothing about e-bikes, particularly 35Nm mid-drives.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

I think I agree with Stefan on this. I totally understand the need for some to have a throttle. Heck, I might have to buy a bike with one someday. I just don’t fully understand when I see healthy people relying unnecessarily upon a throttle. Sometimes, I’ll see a group of 6-8 young people on a...

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

If you pedal while using the throttle, are you actually accomplishing anything? Is that what those people are doing when I see them turning their cranks with zero effort while traveling at 20 mph?

Mission Control-Smart Control, my experience (today)

Yes, I’m probably being overly optimistic in even considering the possibility. But, I have to try! I’m working very hard at improving my fitness level (weight lifting with a trainer 4x weekly, along with either indoor cardio, hiking steep trails, or cycling, 4-5x per week), so maybe I’ll be...

Mission Control-Smart Control, my experience (today)

All this talk about the new app and Smart Control motivated me to try the latter yesterday (with the Mission Control app, of course). I had tried the heart rate piece a year ago, and didn’t care for it, but this time I thought I’d try the distance setting. I set it to 45 miles, 500 foot...

Which App(s) do you use and why? Mission Control App, Specialized App, Ride App.

Of the above, I use only the Mission Control app, and I use that only for the tuning function. In reality, I haven’t tuned with Mission Control in quite some time, as it’s set where I like it. I did download the new Specialized app to check it out, but I won’t likely be using it. While riding...

    50T Creo Chainring

I’m with you on this. My cassette is 10-50T, and there’s no way I’ll ever spin out with my 46T chainring even on a downhill. At some point, I’m tapping the brakes!

That looks like fun! Do they have e-bikes available?

Creo turbo SL - how to measure actual wattage capacity of battery

I’ve also had my Creo for over a year, charge after nearly every ride, and haven’t seen any loss of capacity. Mission Control will always show 100%, but I use the BLevo app, which supposedly provides an accurate measurement of battery health, and it also says 100%. Honestly, although I’ll admit...

    Velociraptor gen2

My concern about the Road Remotes was unfounded. I now realize the Levociraptor connects between the motor and the TCU.

    Velociraptor gen2

I’m considering riding the Seattle-to-Portland event in 2024. This event does not allow Class 3 e-bikes, so I’m looking for a way to limit my Creo’s top assist speed. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind limiting it, as I’ll need all of the range I can get. The only way I see to accomplish this is with...

    Battery charging procedure

I’m sure what @6zfshdb says is true. However, I’m lazy, so I just charge my Specialized Creo to 100% after every ride, based on the thought that on my next ride I might need it. The battery health, per both the Mission Control app and the BLEvo app, is still at 100% after over a year. It may be...

Shame on me, heads-up for you!

That one is just plain scary! The problem is that at a given moment in time, anyone is capable of a lapse in diligence. Our mind may be lost in other thoughts when the call comes in, we may be overly tired, or perhaps we’re medicated.

Shame on me, heads-up for you!

I think the first rule is; never answer questions from a caller. I got a call a few days ago from someone purporting to be a representative from my medical insurance provider. They said they had import information for me, then asked my birthdate to confirm my identity. That’s when I hung up. I...

Wow-Prices are down on E-Bikes on Specialized site!

If it is a non-mastermind bike, the BLEVO app would work with it, which gives the user the ability to control the assist in a manner similar to mastermind. I use it, and I’m not sure I’d want to give it up for Mastermind.

    Sold my acoustic Trek yesterday

This is similar to my story. I had a Trek 2000. After not riding for a number of years, I cleaned it up, put new tires and cables on it, even new wheels (one was damaged). I rode it a few times and decided I was never going to be able to handle the hills. I bought an ebike, and shortly after...
