I'm a bit surprised CYC hasn't worked out the reliability issues with their Photon motor. Having said that, CYC has a habit of using their customer base as beta testers.

I think I detect some 'buyer's remorse'. ;) I go through this each time I buy something expensive. My advice: ride the bike and enjoy it and I suspect that remorse will soon disappear.

There is a new electronic shifter on the market-WHEELTOP EDS, from China. The difference is while the Archer unit connects to the stock derailleur the EDS comes with a derailleur and shifter. I wonder if Archer saw the writing on the wall.....

I was an early adopter and purchased their D1X shifter soon after it came on the market. Presently, it sits in a 'bike parts' drawer, because of a battery drain issue. I have two sets of batteries and neither, fully charged, will last a 30 mile ride. So much for being an early adopter. :(

This is so true. When I was in my 50s I started training for a half marathon. I ran 5 days a week but didn't lose any weight. Why? I increased the amount of food I ate, because the exercise made me more hungry, and since I was exercising so much I felt I deserved a nice dessert every night.

The product does look promising, but it is no where near ready for prime time. I hope they finally get all the bugs and glitches fixed before they go bust.

Depends on the brand of brakes. My wife's Zen bike has Tektro hydraulic brakes, which use mineral oil. A bleed kit for this brand of brakes can be found on Amazon, etc. For me, bleeding bike hydraulic brakes has been hit and miss. Sometimes it's easy and other times it's been a real PITA.

Your two reasons look to be a brake fluid problem, not brake pad wear issue. I agree with il Munduato-you need to have your brakes bled. Your pads may also be worn, but before you replace them take them out and measure them. New brake pads are usually 3-5mm thick and should be replaced when...
