Bafang to Rohloff belt drive question.

I am running a ratio of 3.075 (chain setup 13T rear, 40T front) which seems ideal to me. At cadence of 70 I'm doing about 22mph in 11th gear.

    Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)

I've got a Rohloff, and I have not experienceed any "cement grinder / dragging feel".

    Class sticker?

Read your local motor vehicle laws. That is where they are regulated. In my state (VA), certain classes of ebikes may be ridden on the road and are required to obey the law as if they are automobiles, once off the road, they are not regulated. Ebikes that fall outside of the certain class...

    Such a contrarian!

    What is bottlenecking me?

I'd go with the 17a model. On the KT controller you can modualte the power level (amps) going to the motor

    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

Well, I disagree slightly. Tubes can rip or tear internally, and no amount of sealant will help. I've run tubes for several years with Slime, and it did work, but sometimes it didn't becusese the tube would tear rather than just get punctured. If you are running tubes, Slime will definitley save...

    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

Riding last night in the dark 3 miles from home, picked up a 3 foot piece of wire, like coat-hanger diameter, dead center puncture on the outer part of my front tire. Pulled the wire out and a white mist (Stan's No Tubes Sealant) sprayed a fine mist up into the air, highlighted by my headlight...

MY23 Riese and Muller Supercharger 2 GT Rohloff - 53cm - Warm Silver Matt

Sorry to hear about your knee. I wear hefty knee pads when I ride my eMTB. Were you wearing knee pads? If not, do you think it would have helped. That looks looks and sounds like a nasty injury. ~Tom

    Aventon Level.2 Tires

Best way is to unplug it from the controller and pull it through the bottom gasket.

Riding my bike, stopped for a beer, then met a one-armed Indian man on the steps of the church.

I went for a bike ride this evening around 6PM. It was a beautiful evening, the sun setting, low in the sky, sunlight streaming through the beautiful trees, ligting up the green grassy banks and hills along my route. The air was clean and moist, it was a perfect evening. After 30 minutes, I was...

    Added a 2nd integrated battery to my Luna Z1: 48V, (17.5ah) + (17.5ah) = 35ah!

I presume they have an internal battery balancer. Of course cannot tell unless I saw documntaiton. You shold be able to splice cables, yes.

Chain degreasing and skipping on smallest cog

I agree with Juggernaut, your derailleur should be at 5 o'clock while on the largest cog. That might help if your chain were tighter.

    Aventon Level.2 Tires

I put 3.0" in front, 2.8" in the rear, mtb tires, you will have to remove the metal fenders.

    Knee Protection on the Trail

Clarification: These (above) instances were all situations where my bike did not collide with anything. They were rain, ice, loss of traction instances where my bike went down sideways, in a flash, on concrete or grass, and my position on the bike never changed. The handlebar, pedal, and helmet...

    Knee Protection on the Trail

I agree. The few times I have fallen and managed to keep my feet on the pedals, knees in, hands on the grips, I've come a way relatively unscathed. My elbow pads helped too.

    Knee Protection on the Trail

I'm 64. Started riding bikes daily four years ago. Since I got my emtb three years ago, I've been riding aggressively on a daily basis. I want to minimize any damage if I fall. I fell often a few years ago as I was learning. Broke my ribs twice. I don't fall anymore but maybe once a year. I want...
