I like shifting when I'm ready but am happy to hear about continued development of the Steps system. I actually damaged a Nexus 8 IGH sprinting up a steep grade, that 4th gear was not reliable after that incident. Looking forward to your personal experience with it. -S

Purchasing an FS RX tomorrow, thoughts?

Well I can't contrast it with the neo jumper but I can say I'm very pleased with the FS RX, ZERO brake adjustments in over 2 thousand miles, ZERO rust on the fork stanchions in salty coastal areas, ONE flat before adding tough liners - in fact I sometimes leave the tool kit and tubes at home...

    Rapid Charging

Charge a Tesla in 5 minutes!,.. gunna need a sub-station to pull that off. Sure would make cross country e-bike rides more manageable. Tnx 4 da post, -S

Is it ok to ride on restricted trails if you take off the battery

I suspect it depends on if you encounter an A-hole with a power complex or a reasonable official that has no ego need to suppress you. Your attitude could be a factor so play it cool (humble and respectful), but it won't matter with some jerk that kicks dogs, and or beats his wife and kids to...

    Haibike FS RX Kick Stand

I'm not sure, I assumed the shop put it on for demo riders. It had 25 miles on it and I saved quite a bit because of that and some scratches on the battery. -S

    Haibike FS RX Kick Stand

Mine came with an older style pletscher ESEG kickstand, nice fit, makes a bit of noise off road. I would never get one on the pedal or crank. -S

How to remove speed limit on Vector?

Just for future lurkers this is something to research before you buy a ridiculously limited ebike. Saying you can go faster by pedalling is like salting the wounds. -S

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

In San Diego they have hired a company to survey the roads for all the problem areas, nothing like Chicago I'm sure but as usual infrastructure maintenance is way behind. Plenty of folks seem proud of the toughness of their backside, even riding brooks saddles, I say whatever. Comfort is king...

A Couple of Bosch Drive System Issues

Just shy of 2K miles and running like a clock here. I was much harder on bikes in my youth, and the amounts of mud in some of these photos shocks me. Best of luck with your repairs and maybe consider a real motorcycle if you are going to ride in the thick of it. -S

Stromer ST1 Platinum aftermarket full coverage fenders that match?

On the PB fenders there is an eye loop inside the plastic triangular doohicky, some clever folks have abandoned the plastic and simply bent the eye loop for a clean and minimalist installation. Front mount in my case. -S

55 mile trip today, headwind VS tailwind sure made a difference in battery consumption, 1 more day before the rains.

Stromer ST1 Platinum aftermarket full coverage fenders that match?

360 Lumens may be a bit weak if you commute on unlit roads. My local Stromer dealer uses a spray on the disc, there is also a breakin method involving several hard stops. Funny my shimano hydro brakes only squeak one time when wet, typically from moist air in the evening. Enjoy the new ride! The...

How to safely start pedaling when feet don't touch ground?

Sounds like you have already found the best strategy, I suppose you might also be able to push off with one foot while the other is on the pedal at the bottom of the stroke, therefore not triggering the PAS right away. -S

2nd battery is in a backpack with water, tubes & tools etc. I suppose it is light enough for one of those seatpost racks, but I like my backpack's versatility. I average about 20 mph, with the hills I mentioned before included so more like 24 on the flats. 50 is possible in Eco and lower...

BTW - I still use a BodyFloat on the fs rx, nothing reacts to high frequency bumps like that bad boy, kinda sticks the seat to your bum too, as opposed to being ejected a bit W/out. -S

Sold the Dash. 30 miles is about the limit in Tour mode on the fs rx. Of course I have a few hills on my 25 mile loop, maybe 700 feet in total so your mileage may vary. I just got a 2nd battery, perhaps you can do what I did and negotiate a 2nd battery at cost plus shipping, retail is a joke. -S
