Sorry to hear another bummer with Specialized. Be advised that Shimano SLX has a clutch feature that dramatically stiffens the rear derailleur, so much so you are required to toggle it off for wheel removal. Just in case you want to consider replacement options. -S

I'll second that, ring them up. Got mine for about $700 down here in Encinitas, expect to pay about $35 for hazardous shipping fees. You'll love the range and can prevent deep discharging on shorter trips. I'm now on Bosch with 2 batteries. -S

If you could eliminate the inverter and replicate the DC output of the OEM power supply I think you'd be looking at a more efficient solar charging array. Not that I know exactly how to do it but have seen it discussed in previous searches. -S

The slip lock type link makes a chain swap cake, < $10. I did one today without it and had to jockey the pin in both directions a few times before finding the sweet spot where the link pivots easily and appears/feels centered on the link. -S

Stromer is the original, without running a spreadsheet the rest are probably cheaper alternatives. IMO - Spend a little more since you plan to ride many years. -S
