    I hit a horse

Wow, terrible situation. So sorry; hope you bounce back from this setback. Love all of your posts....well not so much the last one. Take care and be well.

Do you still ride your analog bicycle?

I've ridden my e-bike 1,300 miles this year in upstate NY. I try to keep it on eco mode (level 1), but will go to 2 or 3 on hills. Just before heading to Florida for 5 weeks, my rack broke, so I've had to use the 1988 Trek (down tube shifters!) since arriving. First few rides were in strong...

Thule Easyfold XT Problem and Resolution

A few weeks ago I drove back from a group ride. Upon arriving home, I realized the rack was very loose and the keyed knob that allows it to be tightened into the 2 inch hitch was completely missing. The safety arm that goes into the side of the hitch was the only thing holding the rack (and my...

    Step-Thru

Looks great. My R&M Nevo3 has bottle bosses on both sides of the head tube. I didn't like the Fabric bottles, so I attached carbon fiber cages on both sides; works great and doesn't interfere with the ability to step through.

    Thudbuster vs Kinekt seat posts

I too have a Nevo 3 and the same problem with the Thudbuster seat clamp. I redid the entire clamp and made sure I tightened to 16 newtons (quite a bit of torque); seems to be holding for now. If it doesn't, I'll probably switch to Kinekt. Seat post clamps shouldn't be rocket science.

    Atlantic Magazine on ebikes

Totally agree, Mulezen. The author didn't do his homework, and shame on his editor for letting this flimsy article get by. And you're right, The Atlantic generally publishes well researched, thoughtful pieces.

After repair I lost overdrive with Enviolo manual

I had similar problem and eventually got it sorted, but my icon interface was off (hill to Mt Everest). The two internal plastic gears on the shifter display were out of synch, but I was afraid to force them to a new position. How did you do this? Thanks.

    Hi from Upstate NY

I'm told by the former Saratoga Springs city planner that the Saratoga to Zim Smith is being stymied because they can't get a right-of-way from one land owner. Still, things are improving continuously.

    Hi from Upstate NY

The Post Star reported that Class 1 e-bikes would be permitted, although I've never seen any type of enforcement on the bikeway. By the way, the Warren County Bikeway connects (via a few Glens Falls side streets) to the Feeder Canal Towpath, which in turn connects to the Champagne Canal Trail...

    Superdelite weight limit

I wouldn't think the trailer would add much weight. It's not the weight of the trailer and its contents, rather the tongue weight, i.e. the downward pressure where it attaches to the bike. You can measure this with an ordinary scale with the tongue resting on it.

    Step through?

Absolutely agree with the above. Last November I went to Propel and had selected two R&Ms, one high step, one midstep. I quickly eliminated the twin battery high step; I almost ended up on the floor as I tilted the bike. I tried the mid step but wasn't completely happy. My "matchmaker"...

    Hi from Upstate NY

Don't forget Cooper's Cave Ale Company (they also have ice cream), where the bikeway crosses Dix Avenue, and Sprinkles, where the bikeway crosses Glenwood Avenue. Don't ask me how I know this.

    Hi from Upstate NY

Some really nice trails north of Albany. The Warren County Bikeway (amazing view of Lake George at its northern terminus), the Feeder Canal Trail (which connects via a few blocks in Glens Falls) to the Warren County Bikeway, and the section of the Champlain Canal trail between Fort Ann and Fort...

    Priority Current and Tannus Inserts

I just did a quick search and it seems Tannus is used in conjunction with a tube, while Schwalbe Procore is for tubeless systems. Since I spent only a few minutes on this, please feel free to correct my comment.

    The Electric Highway Includes Ebikes

I agree. But I'm seeing quite a few charging stations on or near bike friendly roads. But Starbuck would be great to kill some time.

Anyone using MIK bags with a Load?

I was confused about MIK terminology at first. This YouTube video is concise and clear:

    The Electric Highway Includes Ebikes

Just heard that the Federal Government will spend 5 Billion (with a B) on car charging stations. Wouldn't it be nice if they had a plug for e-bike chargers on the other side (even if there was a coin slot) and a stanchion to secure an e-bike. Can't imagine adding a 110 v plug on the other side...

Aging (not for the feint of heart).......

I'm fortunate and have the best of both worlds: Upstate NY on southern edge of Adirondacks and Ft Pierce FL for 6 weeks after the leaves fall, then back north for snowshoeing and skiing, then back to Florida from mid March (when snow starts getting crappy) to end of May. Had my e-bike in...

Aging (not for the feint of heart).......

At age 77 I tested a couple of high and mid step e-bike. I realized that the way I had mounted my analog bike (carbon fiber, about 18 pounds), where I tipped it over, wasn't going to work. Fortunately, my "matchmaker" at Propel offered me a chance to try the bike she was on, a Nevo 3 step...
