    Home repair of cheap e-bikes

I need to stay under $1000. I'd prefer in the Ancheer price range;$600—800. I'd definitely need more than one speed for our hilly area but I'm pretty familiar with derailleurs. Folding would be a plus for easy transport. Also, I need a small frame for my 5'2". My 16" analog hybrid bike is fine.

    Home repair of cheap e-bikes

I really want an ebike but I'm at a point where, for financial reasons, buying an inexpensive bike online from Amazon or Walmart makes the most sense. I'd probably have to do all of my own repairs and maintenance because the only local shops that sell ebikes won't work on the cheapies. I guess I...

    Inexpensive aka cheap bikes?

I know,I know, you get what you pay for. Still, at this point I can't afford a better e bike and have been looking at the really inexpensive (<$1000) bikes on Amazon,Walmart etc. I'm not decided on style yet. I'd be riding mainly on paved roads and paths, some dirt paths, maybe a very...

    Schwinn Electric Bicycle Information.

That's what I was thinking. Walmart was the only place I found it.

    Small wheels vs large wheels?

In terms of handling and general riding feel, what's the difference between small (20") and large (26") wheels? I'd be riding the big majority of the time on good paved roads, small city (Frederick MD) and surrounding country roads. I'd also like to feel comfortable on dirt roads, canal towpaths...

    Schwinn Electric Bicycle Information.

I've heard that support for inexpensive bikes like Ancheer can be spotty, and I was wondering if ,being a US company, theirsupport might be better even though the bikes or most of their parts are undoubtedly Asian. Anyone seen and tried the Schwinn electric sidewinder?

    Cheap bikes?

The Rattan website says that their older model is sold out, and the Rattan Challenger Plus will be out soon, but at $999.99 . It looks like it has, among other upgrades, some sort of regenerative charging system which is cool, but I'd rather not spend that much. Amazon has a number of differently...

    Cheap bikes?

The Rattan looks pretty good, but I might have to cover up the name. To me, rattan is a type of wicker-like furniture ;-)

    Cheap bikes?

I know, I know, ya get what ya pays for but the senior on Social Security in me finds the really inexpensive bikes on Amazon, etc have an appeal. I'm very handy and have done a lot of repairs on conventional bikes. Any personal experience with Ancheer and the like? Other sub $1k bikes?

Can my wife and I be compatible on the road?

Note-- this is pretty long so if you want to cut to the chase, scroll down to the *** Actually, after 20 years, we're still exceedingly compatible. The issue now is our choice of 2 wheeled vehicles. When we moved to Maryland 2 years ago we talked about getting a pair of gas motor scooters so we...

Yet another "what should I buy?" thread

I'll try to keep it short, like myself, who is 5'2". My current non-electric bike is a hybrid,26" wheels, 16" frame and I handle that just fine. I just turned 69,weigh about 150lb and am in very good health. I keep bouncing back and forth as to what I want: 20" fat bike (folding or not...
