Any way to add a torque sensor to RadRover?

I've ridden a few already, but unfortunately not a lot of options in my area.

Any way to add a torque sensor to RadRover?

Don't own one, but considering one. I'm trying to bypass a "starter" bike and figure out what I likely won't love about it and know what my options will be, or either buy something else to start with that has less things that bug me. I guess just trying to know as much as I can first, before...

    RadRover -vs- RipCurrent

Thanks for the reply. I've ridden a Pedego that had a torque sensor (cadence also), but it felt like nothing more than the cadence sensor many bikes (like the Rad Rover etc...) have. Felt like an on / off switch. On the other hand, I've ridden some of the Yamaha and Bosh bikes with torque...

bpmimports.com Any experience with this seller, good or bad? Thanks!

Any way to add a torque sensor to RadRover?

Thanks for the info. Very interesting. So I watched a few of their videos and I think I understand how this would work, but is it possible to still use the original bike's display / control unit along with the Cycle Analyst v3? Having 2 displays would be a little odd, but while the CA looks...

    Juiced RipCurrent Controller location?

In the Ripcurrent bikes, is the controller inside the battery pack or somewhere in the downtube of the frame?

Any way to add a torque sensor to RadRover?

Wondering if there is a way to do this w/out replacing too much or costing too much (sub $3-400)? And would it really improve the pedaling "feel" (i.e. be more like a mid-drive)? I know the Juiced RipCurrent has a torque sensor, but I wonder how well it works, and if any torque sensor on a...

Juiced bikes - do they use standard battery type / mount?

OK very good to know. One less thing to worry about, manufacturers continuing to provide proprietary batteries. Thanks!

Juiced bikes - do they use standard battery type / mount?

I was looking at the Biktrix bikes, and apparently there is a standard of sorts for ebike batteries, and the Juggernaut appears to use that type of mount / connection. Apparently you can use other batteries from other sources on those bikes. It looks at first glance like the Juiced bikes also...

2019 Pedego Ridge Rider 20mph limiter - easiest hack around this?

I really want / need a throttle though, and that rules out most all of the Bosch / Yamaha / Brose bikes I'm aware of (all the ones that have that natural pedal assist), so I've been looking at mountain bike or fat tire type bikes that are sort of utility models that also have a throttle.

    RipCurrent -vs- RadRover

Considering these two, and I guess I'll post in the Rad thread as well, but here is what I think I know so far: RadRover: Likely better support from Rad?? Solid design, good ergonomics Standard components easily modified or replaced Has larger, easier to read display Nice front rack mounting...

2019 Pedego Ridge Rider 20mph limiter - easiest hack around this?

Yes - that is a good description - just takes off. I was a little startled the first few times because I didn't really feel in control of it. Changing PAS modes didn't really help much. I'm hoping other bikes are better in this regard.

2019 Pedego Ridge Rider 20mph limiter - easiest hack around this?

Ok thanks - that helps a lot. I didn't want to assume this was normal if in fact there was an issue with the particular bike I rode. The dealer rode it and he said it was normal, so I assumed he'd know but it's good to get clarification. Not a deal breaker, but a little disappointed. Those...

2019 Pedego Ridge Rider 20mph limiter - easiest hack around this?

Thanks! I did see this - very simple mod, and one that provides some custom programming options (configure max amp draw, for example) that are nice. Comparing Rover to Juiced Ripcurrent S, you could get RR, kit you mention and a 2nd battery and still be in it for less $. Sure, still no hydro...

2019 Pedego Ridge Rider 20mph limiter - easiest hack around this?

Thanks for that - Do you have the Ridge Rider ? I'm curious about your thoughts on the torque sensor. When I rode it yesterday, I thought it was a very coarse application of power - like an on / off switch, no matter what PAS level I chose. I realize that is the characteristic of cadence sensors...

2019 Rad Rover range / speed on throttle only

Ok thanks for the info on speed / range. I guess peddle assist "feel" is subjective, but do you feel connected to the bike, and like the bike is helping you but not overwhelming you when you pedal? I rode a Pedego Ridge Rider today (which has a somewhat sophisticated torque and cadence sensing...

2019 Pedego Ridge Rider 20mph limiter - easiest hack around this?

I hear you - Pedego isn't about anything but stock, mainstream use. There probably aren't too many Pedego users who modify anything either, if I had to guess, since the target market generally just buys it and uses it. I"ve always been into modifying things when beneficial, or at least knowing...
