Looking for a cadence sensor commuting bike-where did they all go?

It is only the money. Are we "cheap"? Did we work for the whole life to think cheap? You ride a Tesoro Neo. Why not a cheap no-name?

Looking for a cadence sensor commuting bike-where did they all go?

The life is too short to waste it on inferior things. Why did you buy the Vado SL? Perhaps because it is good?

Jeremy, as you already know, torque without the angular speed makes no sense. A torque system only measures how hard you stomp on the pedals but does not measure how fast you rotate the cranks. You may pedal at cadence 30 but grind the pedals. What is the power you deliver to the cranks? Now...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I had a conversation with my friend Alfer who is an extremely strong competing cyclist. Whenever it is a gravel race, he rides a good hardtail XC bike. I know he owns a drop-bar gravel bike so why not to ride it on a race? He said he didn't feel comfortable with the drop bars in rough terrain...

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Chris, that's a brilliant photo! I wonder why you wasted your and my time on the 2 kW BMX YT video instead of documenting your Pravo ride!

Totally unrelated but I owe you a story :) It was 2009, and I had my first own band. Half of the band members were from Upper Silesia, so it meant frequent car trips (320 km or 200 miles one way) for rehearsals and rare concerts. Once, I had my car parked at the property of the singer and had...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Jeremy, I don't know why and even do not try to guess. What I say is experience based. There was a time I actively measured the Vado SL range at different assistance levels, and it was usually at E=M. (Bear in mind I own as many as 4 Range Extenders and never hesitate to use them, haha!) I even...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

@mogulman: If I may suggest something, please do not try anything above 60% as the basic Assist (Ease) for long rides. Above, the battery goes off the cliff. I'd say, 50 or 55% are safe numbers.

Yes I do. It, however, depends on the model year and the model how a specific Vado SL is equipped. Mine does not have bosses under the top tube! See the complicated arrangement of the cockpit. There is no space for a handlebar bag there. The detail from the non-drive side. Same with the...

Looking for a cadence sensor commuting bike-where did they all go?

Because it is a simple system where the controller only checks whether the crank and the rear wheel are rotating then provide constant motor power per the assistance level. The "cadence" system even doesn't measure the cadence! Only the crank movement. It is an On-Off system with constant...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

35/35 just gives enough power to the motor to operate smoothly. I think the motor noise depends on the cadence. Where the motor is the most efficient (70-90 rpm), the motor noise is the most audible... :(

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

It really depends. On either of my e-bikes, the head light and the cabling prevent me from installing the handlebar bag. I also believe a loaded handlebar bag might adversely affect steering on singletracks. Moreover, the space between the bottom and top tube on my Vado 6.0 ST is as tight as the...

Guys, please tell me: Do the racers use bike computers? I assume they only need to see their Workout Data and prefer the smallest Garmin computers?

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I started conforming to the rule 'Whatever belongs to the bike, stays on the bike. Whatever belongs to the human, is carried by the rider'. Now, each of my two Specialized e-bikes (Vado and Vado SL) has its own: Topeak Mountain Twin Turbo Gauge pump installed on the frame A spare SL Range...

Changing from Tubeless to Tube? Turbo Tero 6.0 X

I though first TPU tubes were some revelation but my first experience was negative. I installed new Aerothans on my Vado SL, clean rims and tyres. While the rear inner tube still holds the air, the front one was losing air overnight. I did a water test but could see no air bubble release...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

They have nothing worth protecting under their skull. Same as Boris.

Haha! I think the boost from the cold start is controlled by Responsiveness :) You're not alone! Setting up my new Vado SL in June 2021. My TCU (the e-bike controller, not a display) is the same as yours. We could not connect the App with the e-bike. Turned out, the App (then called Mission...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

There's no belt only gears in SL 1.1 motor. Additional info for my post #3,038: The electric motor requires a minimum power to work properly, and I think it is 60 W for SL 1.1. Whenever the rider tries to force the motor to work at the power lower than the minimum, the e-bike computer produces...
