Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Very nice Dave. Tons to look at around you and a damn good looking rehearsal space as well! I notice you don’t leave the PRSes laying around, though 😎

    Bicycle dog leash???

Mira just completed the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. The Baja Peninsula wasn’t enough, apparently.

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Some of these non powered bikes sure look like fun, don’t they? I was at my LBS picking up my Creo with it’s new shoes - Pathfinder Pros, set up tubeless, 700x38 - and saw a new stock arrival, some hot damn flavor of carbon Diverge, beautiful white bike with a 40 tooth chainring, 11-50 12 speed...

    Bicycle dog leash???

Friend did the leash to handlebar thing until dog crossed the front wheel in pursuit of a squirrel that jumped onto the path. Broken collarbone and two shoulder surgeries. I saw the shorter version to the rear hub just the other day for the first time, and in the context of Greg’s story it...

Strava - RideGPS - other apps?

This has turned out to be a super useful thread! I never noticed this ability in six years of almost daily RWGPS use, and I even have the POI layer turned on. You never know. Now I can go back to that mud pit from yesterday and note “ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE”. Good stuff.

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Particularly nice day today. Sun, bright blue sky, around 80. I had my Toughroad today, so when I encountered the Ushers Road State Forest, I went on in and very much enjoyed the single track. I’d taken a brief look at it last week on my Creo, and I believe posted a picture of it, but today I...

Strava - RideGPS - other apps?

Don’t know of one, but it’s a pretty good idea! In Google Maps you could drop a pin and name it whatever you are marking. Doesn’t get it into your ride info though. I have found the Ride With GPS people to be responsive to queries in the past, might be worth making the suggestion to them for...

It's time to make Tucson's Loop an ebike tour destination...here's why

Driving up near the Canadian border today with grandson for a college tour at Clarkson, and the annual sexist guys fishing 4 day trip to Upper Saranac (the Fish & Puke trip, a fine tradition of 30+ years) is October. Plus the whole Fall season of bike riding here and over next door in Vermont...

It's time to make Tucson's Loop an ebike tour destination...here's why

Hey, I’m seriously considering a week or so midwinter - it’s really become quite a winter destination, evidenced by many journals in CrazyGuy and Cycleblaze. A little different than Saratoga and the lower Adirondacks.

    Two E-bikes?

Two drop bars ebikes: Creo (with 42mm tires for some gravel and dirt ability) and a heavier full powered Giant Toughroad for rougher stuff or just lazy days if I want the bike to do more of the work. The Creo gets ridden the vast majority of the time, but if either of them has a problem, I have...

TREK Powerfly 9.7 Lt Chain ring options

I could swear my XM-700 had a seventeen tooth front ring, but I’m probably wrong. John in Ct would know, he’s still got one.

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

Yeah, there’s a ridge I ride that I can normally sit on and look over to Vermont. Not so much lately.

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

“Lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine” Fully agree, Django! Hey, how’s everything looking over there? I haven’t gotten a chance to run over to my brother’s in Enfield along the Northern RT since all the rain.

    New Spec App?

Same as Ben, on first quick glance. it does look like they are trying to use better visuals to explain the whole support level/power thing, which is probably an improvement. Also seems like it replaces Mission Control and Ride as well, so let’s give it a try and see how it goes. It picked up...

Cyclist husband that I'm looking to keep up with-- help choosing!

EDIT: I forgot the SL in the description when I first wrote this. What a maroon! VADO SL Hard to go past a Spec Turbo Vado 4 SL, presumably step through… 2500 bucks, disc brakes a real range of usable gears (44 tooth crank, 11-42 cassette). Also, very light, relatively speaking, so you can...

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

Gravel racing? Group sport. Gravel riding? Of course not, that‘s absurd. 99.9% of my riding is by myself, on all kinds of terrain, including a lot of gravel riding, which I very much enjoy, and don’t need anyone along with me to make sure I fit some stupid protocol.

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

Not specifically ebike related, but I would think maybe interesting to the gang on this thread. I’ve been on Crazy Guy for eight years at least, love the journals, and this one looks like a good one. I would think anyone might agree that the GDMRB qualifies as “adventure”: EDIT: After reading...
