Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

Great, that was what I thought, hence my joke after that. I'm wondering, has anyone tried putting training wheels on the end of the handlebars, parallel to the ground, so if you fall into a wall next to you then it will hold you up as you roll along the wall on your side?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I like the idea of a removable mirror more than another electronic gadget to warn me about all the objects approaching me from the rear, which can break down. I'm gonna order the Velcro bar mirror and the smaller soft looking wrist mirror and see what I...

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

I'm not sure if there's a joke in there somewhere. I feel like I should reply, "yeah, if we were all blasting down the canyon at top speed then there'd nobody behind me to scare me off the path, and I could do the terrorizing with my evil eBike." :) But it was too narrow with two way traffic to...

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

Well, I couldn't resist. I straightened out the handlebars and we're on another ride. We're having a picnic now at a rest stop along the river. EDIT - duplicate posts but the picture isn't uploading. Didn't pay attention to it saying "too big". Never had trouble uploading an iPhone photo...

Here's my zip tie x-fix for the brake, so it won't shed parts while on the bike rack going home.

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

Thanks, I'll check it out. I have limited range of motion when turning my neck, and turn my shoulders out of habit now when I go to look behind me, so I think this will be inevitable.

PS: my right arm keeps going to sleep while I type this or eat, so not sure about that ride.

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. I have zip ties and used two in an x-pattern to keep the front brake in place, and also have electrical tape just in case. It's not very elegant but it allowed me to get back to the hotel and use my front brake downhill. I also have a helmet mounted mirror...

Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

The opposite of eBike riders going too fast or being reckless can still hurt. In this case, unassisted riders surprised us while passing us and it resulted in my crash. We'd decided that bike path was too narrow to be cruising at max assist speed of 20mph, but other riders didn't feel that way...

    New Purion controller

@EddieJ WTH do you hope to accomplish with your attitude?!?! Talking about poor reading comprehension, you're the pot calling the kettle black. My first post actually posited that the PURION was inferior to my Intuvia based on what I've heard, and you've now flipped it 180 degrees to me...

    New Purion controller

You still haven't addressed the "reduced functions", nor tallpaul's (and others) issues with poor response, nor tallpaul's experience with zero interest in his prurient. You didn't answer my question about visibility when rotating the controls to bring the +/- closer to my thumb. Instead I'm...

    New Purion controller

Hey, I didn't roll my eyes and post like a condescending arse, so are you always like this or having a bad morning? After that all I saw was reduced functions, I'm too daft to set up my controls, and then I skimmed through the rest so I could get away from you as fast as I could. Why are you...

    New Purion controller

Okay, I'm game. Why is it better? Other than being more difficult to positively engage the next level of assist up or down, and being out of the line of sight so that you might miss what you're about to roll over when you quickly glance to the side to look at it? Does it offer better or more...

What kind of range do you get on one charge?

Still helpful information, but few of us have the opportunity or desire to run the battery to empty on a long ride unless we are very fit, or have a chase car to help us get back uphill to our home, or a charger to tank back up when we have no juice left. I'm not physically capable of doing a...

    Powerfly 8 FS

The old Bosche software has 4 modes not three - ECO 55%, TOUR 120%, SPORT 210%, and TURBO 300%. Now they have ECO, SPORT, MTN, & TURBO for the four levels. The new MTN replaces the 210% setting offers a variable boost rate from anywhere between 120% - 300% (including 210% but variable to go as...

    Powerfly 8 FS

I agree that the Powerfly's Bosche Drive feels much more powerful in the lower gears, or at a higher cadence, than it does when lugging the motor at a lower cadence in a higher gear (especially on hills). If I'm cruising flat ground at 18-19mph in ECO mode and I see even a slight incline or a...

Thanks for the heads up. I totally missed that. But do we know if the Giant now ties or beats the Trek at a 9/10? I'm out having a relaxing ride and a stop for ice tea on my Pf7. My son wants me to get an 8FS+ and hand down my 7 to him, but I don't want to lose the two water bottle cage bosses...

    Powerfly 8 FS

I just read a 3 eMtn bike review last night http://www.mbr.co.uk/buyers_guide/electric-mountain-bikes-348254 And the Giant got a 6/10 rating, Specialized got an 8/10, and Trek got. 9/10 and they had nothing significantl to complain about with it.

    New Purion controller

WHY is there even a need for the Purion display when the Intuvia is better, and why don't we have the option in the US of the upgrade to a Nyon? It seems the Purion is a downgrade that nobody wants - I certainly don't.
