Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I did the exact same thing. I loved the white/red in the Comp road model. I had the dealer swap the road tires for gravel (among other changes) so it's MY bike the way I wanted it.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

If it is an EVO, why no dropper post and why the change in bar tape? I can understand if you replaced the post for weight (my LBS said it’s an extra pound) but I love my stock padded bar tape.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

By the color (blue/white) is it a Comp EVO with no dropper post? The rims look different and they're road tires but I don't see that color in other models.

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

A tubeless tire is rigid so any small puncture can easily be sealed by the sealant. An inner tube is extremely flexible as you see when you inflate one outside the tire. Tubes move and flex even when inside a tire. This is why many of us powder tubes before installation. Even a small puncture in...

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

I have to disagree. There are no differences between tubed and tubeless as far as the forces are concerned. The air doesn't care if there is a tube or not. Everyone is making too big of a deal of this one example. Blowouts are just as common with tubed tires with the same results. As mentioned...

    Vado 4.0 Quit on Me

Yes, once you transmit your error log to Specialized, your dealer contacts Specialized. Your dealer will then tell you what you need to do.

    Vado 4.0 Quit on Me

If you’re using Mission Control, under the Diagnose option there is an Advanced option that will send your error log to Specialized. Your dealer can then contact them and receive the error and possible solutions. That would be your best option if you can’t get the bike to your dealer. I had...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Stefan, you are much more hard core than I. I wait until the temp is approaching 60F before I consider venturing out. You're so bundled up I wonder how you can ride.

My first e-bike (Turbo Creo SL Comp Evo)

Yesterday I did a slow (11 mph average) group ride of 38 miles with 1,000 ft elevation gain. I used a whopping 2% of my CREO battery. Can’t get much more efficient than that. Extend that out and I could go almost 2,000 miles per charge! That won’t happen... LOL. The entire ride was in 15% boost...

Creo Carbon Comp SL Motor Error

I just received a call from the dealer. They are going to push Specialized to send me a new bike. In the mean time, the dealer is giving me an EVO off their sales floor to ride until my new one arrives. They said delivery could be two weeks out. The dealer is really standing up for me. It would...

Creo Carbon Comp SL Motor Error

I agree but I want it fixed NOW. If the diagnostics aren't reporting the true problem, I don't want them just throwing parts at it. The fault comes on randomly so I'll never know if it's truly fixed. I'd feel much more confident if they just replaced the bike and I'll start all over.

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

I went to college in Hayward. Some weekends we would head to the Sierras for skiing on Saturday, then down to Monterey/Carmel for scuba diving on Sunday. Wonderful memories...

Creo Carbon Comp SL Motor Error

Today I picked up my Creo with the replacement motor. I took it out for a 22 mile ride through the hills above Tucson. At mile 17 the same motor error reappeared! The bike is back at the shop. I told the mechanic to pass on to the owner that it may be time for a new bike since they can't seem to...

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

Especially on a bike that is marketed as "gravel" which gives the impression that it will do double duty equally well.

Creo Carbon Comp SL Motor Error

Today the bike went into the dealer. He connected to the TCU and verified the motor errors I reported. The error was coded as a 512, "Permanent phase open load". That didn't sound good. The motor software was due for an update so he did that and said hopefully that will correct the error. I took...

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

I think the gearing issue is a result of having a single chainring. I have taken my Creo on some off-road trails and found the stock gearing isn’t quite low enough. While helping the road gearing, increasing the chainring would just make the low gearing worse. It’s just too bad the bike doesn’t...

    Are Vado's Cursed?

I don’t think it’s just the Vado’s. I had the motor replaced on my Yamaha Wabash after just 3 months. The new motor is now giving problems so it will be making a trip to the dealer.

Creo Carbon Comp SL Motor Error

I've now experienced four instances of the bike reporting a motor error. They seem to be generated randomly with nothing out of the ordinary causing them. I've contacted the shop but they say I have to bring the bike in so they can connect it to their diagnostic computer. I haven't been able to...

Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO vs SL Comp Carbon?

My Carbon Comp didn't come with Ultegra, but with Shimano's GRX gravel components. I don't know how they compare but I've been very happy with their quality.
