    Espin Nero

Ok. The scoop on the Espin bike delay. I e mailed Espin about the delays for the delivery of the Nero. They confirmed that the bikes which arrived at the W Coast Port (probably LA) at the end of October have not yet been unloaded from the boat. Normally imported goods are unloaded from vessels...

    Espin Nero

Perhaps not customs itself but the port is backed up. They said bikes are still on a boat, not unloaded. I used to work for the Federal government under many administrations, and the current administration is the worst in terms of leadership, morale, efficiency, etc. Even if it is not Customs...

    Espin Nero

If they cannot get bike through customs at port because customs is backed up it will likely affect other shipments at same port. To me this is evidence of poor management on the part of customs. Lack of leadership at the top, deployment of resources, flexibility, etc.

Got the Sport and the Flow. The Pros and Cons.

They use some Chinese components but make bikes in Taiwan. The components are good for my use. Heard they just raised prices some.

lightweight E-bike for 85 year old mother in-law

Wondering if she would like to try the e bike conversion kit Swytch. Electrek did a review. It is a lightweight hub motor wheel, cadence sensor etc. You can put it on most bikes - many wheel sizes are available. Battery clips on handle bars and comes on and off easily. She could add it to her...

Espin Nesta - Espin's fat tire folding bike pre-order

Espin is a small company and advertising and publicity is not their strength. They could do better. Not a big fan of the name "Nesta."

How does Ride1Up Produce Better Ebikes with less cost and effort than established rivals (eg Juiced)?

You can change the top speed using the display. The parameter settings are very adjustable, but the settings are not very user friendly in my opinion. See the Sport manual on the Espin e bike site pp 10-11. Basically, you have to get into parameter settings by double short pressing the power...

Espin Nesta - Espin's fat tire folding bike pre-order

I e mailed Espin yesterday and they said they are not ready to take orders yet. Looked today and they are now taking orders for the Nesta. Disappointed they raised the price to be even more than the Sport and Flow.

How does Ride1Up Produce Better Ebikes with less cost and effort than established rivals (eg Juiced)?

Core 5 seems like it would be good. Be careful that he is tall enough for whatever bike you get. My 5'6"/7" 17 year old is barely tall enough for the Ride1up 500. I do not have a Aventon but they come in different frame sizes. I have an Lectric XP with fat tires which is very adjustable in size...

$2000 and You Wanna Buy An eBike?

CL = Crazy Lenny's, a WI bike shop. As for tariffs, buy before Jan. 1 when some tariffs on Chinese made bikes kick in, unless they are postponed again. Some manufacturers make their bikes elsewhere as well, eg Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.
