    '16 Dash Assist Issues

On six occasions now my '16 Dash would not go into an assist level higher than 1. It will allow me to switch to zero, then back to 1, or turn off; but not to 2 or higher. I try cycling the display on/off and removing/reinstalling the battery. A couple times I moved the display back and forth and...

Higher gear needed on '16 Dash

I've got some hills on the commute to work and find myself spinning like a hamster down them after the motor tops out at ~30MPH. Thoughts on the best way to get a higher gear? Anyone install a bigger chainring? Replace the cassette? Also, I don't find myself shifting out of the highest gear...

What do you carry on your bike?

Add a pair of nitrile gloves; great when repairs get messy or your regular gloves aren't cutting it. I also carry lip balm.

IZIP Dash vs Surface 604 Colt for Commuting

Bummer, Jax. I've been pretty happy with my '16 Dash. It took me a few miles to learn how to pause while shifting, but she's smooth sailing now. I can commute faster and more often than even before I broke my hip. Are you going to sell it and buy something else?

IZIP Dash vs Surface 604 Colt for Commuting

FYI, prices on 2016 Dash's dropped to $1499 on May 1st. IZIP shipped mine to a LBS for free assembly.

ISO commuter bike, 20 mile round trip

I was in a similar boat; bought a 2016 Izip E3 Dash. They're under $1500 on sale now; delivered to your LBS for a free build. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

    New manufacturer? FLX

Thanks. Apparently 3 letter strings are too short to produce search results here.

    New manufacturer? FLX

Saw their ad pop up on social media. Three entry level mid-drive bikes for pre-order. Hope to see them reviewed once released. Thoughts? https://flx.bike/

    Rad city.

Josh, I'm also deciding between the CC and RC. The only thing I really see as more appealing about the CC is its speed. I've heard that the other Rad bikes can go faster than the advertised 20 MPH by changing a setting available through the LCD. Can anyone confirm? I also don't quite understand...

    Commuter Upgrade

Good point on local support. The nearest Juiced dealer is 3 hours away. My LBS dumped IZip for 2017; they're only selling Trek and Specialized e-bikes now. Will have to expand my search.

    Commuter Upgrade

Not sure of the exact grades. Steep enough that I have to get out of the saddle of my Gotham even after stripping it down. Worst bit is a 2 mile stretch that climbs 200 ft., steep at first and then a steady climb on the way home. Nothing compared to what the mountain commuters deal with. I'm...

    Cross Current Air - $995 S-pedelec

So any guesses how they are going to cut ~$500 off the 7.8Ah CrossCurrent? Smaller battery, no suspension fork, cheaper components?

    Commuter Upgrade

Yes, the trail I would use is informal and has no restrictions; it just follows telephone lines on the right of way adjacent to the road. My LBS has a 2016 Peak on close-out at my budget, so I will check it out. Thanks.

Something New Coming From Rad Power Bikes.

I'm new to e-bikes, but I'm struggling to see the value proposition on the RadCity versus its other offerings. For just $100 more (on sale) you can get the RadWagon with all of the same components and a lot more capability. I was expecting upgraded components and lighter weight at $1499, or a...

    Commuter Upgrade

I've been bike commuting intermittently for 6 years, but have recently thought that an e-bike might allow me to go all-in. My most recent commuter is a Novara Gotham, but I've found it to be inefficient getting back and forth to my new job, particularly on steep hills and a few spots where it is...
