Consider the Catrike ePocket, about 31" wide and likely the smallest out there. Not cheap--$5,000. My wife rides a Catrike Trail (non electric) and reaslly likes it. USA made and in the top tier of recumbent trikes.

I agree...it's godawful ugly. Those are tiny air bladders you inflate via a small air valve. I'll admit, it is cushy on your tushy.

You will like it. My wife, who(m) I can't get to actually buy an e-bike, rented one while we vacationed in FL last winter. She loved it. She had it set up as a Class 2 only and felt it was plenty fast. Easy to handle and comfortable, except for the seat. She prefers a bike seat like this one:
