    E-bikes for heavy riders?

You may find many of the brands/models actually will accommodate your current weight. That is what I found when I started my research last year and I was much heavier at 315lbs. What I learned is in particular models with rear hub motors having shorter spokes are quite strong and capable of...

    Bionx battery callibration question

Thanks for all the details RandallS, makes helping you even easier. I do love my Bionx equipment as well - even if the 3 bikes, 6 motors and 7 batteries I own are becoming 'collector car' like already, lol. This summer however may be the transition I am resisting - I'm building out 3 new fully...

How do you store your bike?

The models I have shown in my photo - you are correct, they are not mud guard friendly. Steadyrack does have a model that is compatible with mudguards. I have not tried it myself. In the video I linked you can see this model in action as well if it helps. Rated for 25kg it could still be an...

Good stuff. Check out the video I just linked to as well to help make your decision. Cheers

How do you store your bike?

I was thinking the hooks (my first option when I started to research) would be a bit tricky with the weight of the ebikes and I worried about all that weight pulling on a spoke. The steady rack design took care of the spoke concern and what I learned (they have some nice video's that helped...

    Bionx battery callibration question

Damn, I thought we had it as well. Just curious - the friend you are borrowing parts from - same battery type (voltage, dock, etc) as yours? As it appears to not be in the console like we thought, might be the propriety BMS/code in the battery? I had the opposite of you today. I was out with 5...

    What mirror do you use?

Hanfy 2019 model (non-anti-glare) on Jones H-Bar - holds fine adjustments well and a big fan of their mount arm and shape. No rattles or any issues for that matter. Available on Amazon. Soon I will be mounting a 2020 anti-glare model I ordered to a new bike. I will add it's photo to this...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Did my 3rd (metric) Century for this week. Tuesday was 100kms, Thursday was 116kms and today topped out at 141kms. Plans changed as I went - hit a stretch of 'fresh gravel, drive slow' which felt like snow under my 50mm tires (with my riding weight and gear loaded on the back) but thankfully...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

50 clicks south of Owen Sound. Born and raised here, returned to my roots 5 years back (travel for work) making this an awesome home base. From here I'm 50kms to Owen Sound, 75kms to Kincardine and it's water's edge, 75kms to Sauble Beach and 75kms to Collingwood if I want to go east (great for...

How do you store your bike?

Last year as I added more bikes to my collection I searched and found Steadyrack: https://www.steadyrack.com/ Road, MTB and Fat Tire bike sizes. Can be installed 12-18" apart and the bikes swing left/right easily to pack them in so tight. I had 6 bikes in a 9' storage locker with space in the...

    Charging cycles - battery life

Interesting link, thanks for sharing. The key instruction I have learned is not to charge past 90% 'unless needed' (i.e. a long ride planned and you want ever Wh available, lol). By charging batteries to 90% and not draining them past 10% remaining capacity is stated often to double the amount...

I look forward to your feedback. :) Cheers

    Ride the Glide

I am learning more brands are keeping the top speed as just a setting that can be end user changed. There are some brands that still do not. My experience started with Bionx which was famous for having the top speed setting only adjustable by someone with the computer software with full debug...

Suggest E Bike Hitch Rack for 2 Bikes Please!

I had a Ram 1500 myself in recent years, near the start of my time getting into ebikes. Your thread here reminded me of the challenges I faced in finding a hitch mounted carrier that would accept my multiple heavy fat tire bikes. One option available to you as a truck owner is a tailgate padded...

Why am I looking at ebikes again?

Going back to having your scooter (once repaired) and an ebike is a quality of life statement - you have two forms of transportation you enjoy (You are experiencing the famous rule I live by of '2 is 1 and 1 is None') and you gain also the choice of scooter or ebike for each time you head out...

    Charging cycles - battery life

Kevmk81 - great question, one we all often keep in mind with our own unique equipment and figuring out what actions are best to extend the life of these (at times) expensive purchases we have invested in. Your question has inspired me to go looking again myself to understand what a charge cycle...

    Bionx battery callibration question

Question - the person you borrowed the console from - could they lend you their 'mount' as well? The mount if I recall should connect to your battery/battery mount - does mean taking their mount off their handlebar but that's only a screw or two. Just a thought?

    Bionx battery callibration question

That is interesting - not seen that before. When I return to my other home this weekend I will find the G2 console I have and compare it to your photo, see how it matches up. Just curious, did you try sliding it on? Guessing it didn't work?

Rider made a comment yesterday on the trail

You're wearing flats and your clothing is properly fitted, does look like it's painted on. You're also not standing next to a $9K race-class acoustic my friend. :D And if I was misunderstood, I apologize, only a select few gents have (and continue to give me when they see me) attitude...
