Shock absorbing seat post/handlebar stem also storage bag for Tero 3 Step through

Oh, I was referring to the seat post about the exposed height, but I can definitely see the same with the stem.

Shock absorbing seat post/handlebar stem also storage bag for Tero 3 Step through

I'm using the Redshift Shockstop seatpost and love it. Prior to adding it, my butt would be done after a 3 hours. Now either my legs or my battery give out before my butt does. :) Canecreek's Thudbusters and Kinekt are also highly rated, but I opted for Redshift because the exposed part of the...

    Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)

Always a fan of letting others be early adopters, but I certainly love the promise it holds. I know I'm not the only one that has thought having gears integrated with the motor just makes sense from a drivetrain perspective.

That's what I get for sticking to the General discussion. :)

    Pinion MGU

Surprised that there hasn't already been a thread on the new Pinion MGU motor/gearbox combo. I think it's been something a fair number of people were expecting for some time now. https://pinion.eu/en/e-drive ebike-MTB.com has a first ride report which reports mostly good things. Oddly, it...

    Bicyclist collides with a bear!

Tusks... the English term is tusks. this from my last trip to the cottage... or not. :)

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

Well, there is that, like many jurisdictions... stick to the right, unless you're turning left. We have some good bike lanes, but some head scratchers too. Two lanes of car traffic with a bike lane on the right, but it diagonally cuts through the right lane to provide a through lane for...

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

Nope, in Canada (Toronto). Our province's cycling rules are basically "follow all car rules", so no Idaho stop. Most riders do it though.

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

I'm a fan of, and practice the Idaho stop at 4-way stops all the time, as long as the view is clear in all directions. At intersections with lights, where I live, it's just safer to stick to them. There's enough car traffic 99% of the time that it's the most practical way to go.

    Bicyclist collides with a bear!

Yep. Black bears being harmless is a weird popular misconception (partly thanks to Winnie the Pooh). ;) That being said, I'd rather encounter a black bear cycling than a moose. A startled moose can kill you, and it's often from moose-on-vehicle collisions. MANY years ago, my sister's...

    Best Wireless Earbuds for Ebikes

I've been a fan of Anker stuff for a while, since every set of buds or headphones I've tried has punched above its price class in sound quality. I have their Soundcore Sport X10 buds and while I don't cycle with them, they're secure in other activities (hiking/treadmill), and loud enough. The...

Best Rock Ever? Nominations, No Air Supply!

I remember reading some study a LONG time ago that for most people, their favourite music coincides with their early/mid teens. I'd buy that. I mean, as a kid my faves were Buddy Holly, John Cash, and CCR, but in the summer of 1981, my friend's older brother was blaring U2 and The Ramones...

Best Rock Ever? Nominations, No Air Supply!

Not if it was made right. :) the difference between "street" LSD and the good stuff was night and day. At least I assume so, because a friend's dad made a few batches at work (unnamed major pharmaceutical company) back in the 80's and it was interstellar compared to the typical blotters found...

Best Rock Ever? Nominations, No Air Supply!

Sorry I gotta be that guy, but Pride was on "An Unforgettable Fire". I don't recall it being on the "Wide Awake..." EP.

What's You're Plan For Major Breakdown?

I'm a fan of the Sawyer Mini. Only used it twice on a ride, but since I already use it for other outdoor activities, why not?

Carbon X vs. Dahon Unio E20

On the specs page Dahon lists the following: Seatpost DAHON Custom 6061 Aluminum,57 mm x 560 mm If the dealer can get the Dahon, he might be able to find out if they're using name brand cells. The "travel to Europe" issue is a whole other thing. Personally I would say "forget about it" Unless...

    Show Us a Tool

Sure dedicated tools are better, and on longer rides I'm possibly over-packed, but it's proven itself handy on a couple of rides now (only other peoples bikes so far, knock on wood).

    Show Us a Tool

I've got Wolf Tooth 8-bit, which is with me on every ride. The chain tool/link storage is great, but as a dedicated allen key/screwdriver replacement, the design does make some points more awkward than a traditional key. On a touring ride away from civilization, I'd pack proper allen keys as well.

Anything significantly new/different coming for the 2023 season?

I'm pretty interested in the new CYC Photon for a DIY conversion this summer. Want to see some reviews (especially comparisons to the TSDZ2) before making a final decision. https://www.cycmotor.com/photon

A BBSHD Killer? Here comes the CYC Photon

Golden Motors, a long-time kit seller in Canada (IIRC they're in Mississauga), posted an installation/test ride video recently: So tempted to give this a whirl with a donor bike I have sitting in a garage to replace my current grocery-getter with something more flexible (and not 4" fat...
