IDK the 5.0 SL has a futureshock.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Odd that the SL 2 5.0 alloy version does not come with a carbon fork unlike SL 1 5.0.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Higher price, more weight, and in Europe, no real performance advantage and even here in the States I don't need a performance advantage as 20 mph with medium effort is plenty. with the 5.0 SL. Added range would be attractive but it would have to be +75 percent with the standard battery if not...

    Lightweight all around bike

Bought my Turbo Vado SL 5.0 SL in late 2022 for $5000 and they are available on line now for under $3000. I'd do it all over again even if I "knew" there would be that drastic a price drop, (was $2249 a few months back). Great bike, even without assist, have zero desire to upgrade to the...

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

Indeed they were. There were "red flag" laws passed in some places. From Wiki. "Red flag laws were laws in the United Kingdom and the United States enacted in the late 19th century, requiring drivers of early automobiles to take certain safety precautions, including waving a red flag in front...

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

As a longtime motorcyclist, 20 mph is fine on my e'bike with more effort getting me a few more mph above that but nowhere near 28mph on flat ground on my Turbo Vado SL 5.0.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

I do like the paint scheme. Maybe I'll talk to a local vinyl wrap place to see what they can do in a similar area. My friend bought a 5.0 SL non EQ the exact silver color as mine and we ride together. He could have had black or yellow at the time though he hated the yellow, (I loved it), and...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I'd return it because when you need a lightweight e'bike they will be lighter and have more range.

Hopefully some members in the US took advantage of the rock bottom pricing for the SL1 5.0 and 4.0 non EQ at $2249/$1749 for that 2 day period which just past.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

If I work quite hard I can get mid 20s on the SL1 so I suspect if you work quite hard you can get to 28 on the SL2. But if you are commuting then you arrive all sweaty which negates the point. As Stefan said, need a "too heavy to carry up stairs" full power e'bike. Personally I'll never have...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Loved my 1987 K75S, sadly totaled by a wily left turner in 2006; made the mistake of taking my eyes of her wheels. Here's when I had four bikes; down to one so the 1994 Miata can keep the bike and the Turbo Vado SL 5.0 company in the garage....and my old Schwinn Super Sport.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Nice, those days are behind me. This week I need to run the F800ST and get most of the old gas out of the tank by putting some maintenance miles on it. Haven't ridden it at all in 18 months; at 68 I lost the "bug" a few years ago after deciding 2 wheel time on a bicycle was better for me as I...

Never mind that more folks I know who travel catch Covid. Haven't caught it myself despite annual trips to Ashland Oregon for the Shakespeare Festival and to New Orleans.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Just tell the truth as you are active and hardly old. You no longer have the desire to travel overseas even if it involves your favorite recreational activity. That is my assumption anyway. I lived in four different countries in my first 10 years of life, and another in my High School years...

Battery Range Experience for Specialized E-Bikes

The SL1 range estimates are wildly optimistic compared to the more realistic SL2 range estimates. https://support.specialized.com/kb/sp_en-us/content/ECV3-4873/Vado-SL-Range-Riding-Tips Sl1 at Turbo/28mph they estimate 40 miles for the 320 watt/hr internal battery, (about 60 percent optimistic...

Battery Range Experience for Specialized E-Bikes

195lbs, "ok fit" for a 67 year old, flat terrain with occasional forced slowdowns due to street crossings etc. Same route using slower pace would result in 30-35 mile range with Turbo used most of the time, with no assist for almost half the time would be 50 miles. For me the range is fine...

Battery Range Experience for Specialized E-Bikes

My SL 5.0 Turbo Vado will go 25 miles or so in max turbo mode on the flats riding briskly, (did that once). Supposedly the new SL 6.0 Turbo Vado will do 35 miles at a faster pace. Just changed my bike to 50/50 75/75 and 100/100 as my friend rides at 100/100 on the same bike all the time due to...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Not a chance, the SL 5.0 is the exact bike I wanted; a bicycle first, easy to pedal with no assist/light, and an e'bike second. Getting to the claimed max of 28 is actually a non issue for me as there is no need for that much speed where I ride.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Good points but what has marketing ended up with? Their lightest and nimblest E'bikes in the SL line are the cheapest and have great range with no attached anxiety as they so light they are as easy to pedal as analog bikes. They turned the world of marketing on its head. In the US perhaps...
