I've ridden my Mango Super bird for five months and put about 1000 miles on it. It continues to be a blast to ride.
Nothing has gone wrong with it and recently I have helped a friend get one which I assembled for her. She bought on my recommendation and is quite happy.

How far did you get before the power was lost? I would try all the connections in case there is a loose one. Recharge the battery. Hopefully it is something easy.

I don't think I'd sell it. At this point, it is a low cost bike for someone. That person deserves to be you. Even if you have to throw a battery at it, do it. And I might add, that is one good looking bike!
Take the safer way whenever you have time to. On days when you have to be somewhere, take the route with cars. That's what I do. I have appointments to keep every so often, and then I take the less enjoyable, less safe, but 3 miles shorter route.

Some years ago I bought my first bike with a cassette/freehub and I loved how easy it was to work on. Getting those old freewheels off is such a bear. I never planned to go back to a bike with a freewheel. Then I bought a fat bike. I was surprised (shouldn't have been, it was sort of cheap)...
