Is a 2013 iZip E3 Metro worth rehabbing?

The bike is long gone. The replacement battery was over $600 so I didn't adopt the bike. Good luck finding parts...

Is a 2013 iZip E3 Metro worth rehabbing?

I found this at the dump today... Don't have a charger for it and not sure if the battery can be replaced. Any thoughts on whether this bike is worth rehabbing? Everything works except for the motor since the battery is dead.

    Burley trailer with a C380?

Did you find an answer to this question? I'd be interested to know if you had any success attaching a hitch adapter.

Bosch, Shimano or Bafang motor on etrike?

I wouldn't worry too much about the motor itself. Find the bike that fits you and your needs. I have a bad knee that sometimes gives out so I end up pedaling with one leg. I've added 3rd-party motors to my cargo bikes (I use the Tongsheng TSDZ2 because I wanted a torque sensor system) and have a...

    New Haul ST from Specialized….

2 new Trek cargo eBikes coming soon

The article from the Verge doesn't say *where* Trek will be shipping these new cargo bikes. The Fetch+ series doesn't show up on their US web site, but you can see all the details and marketing spin on their UK site here...

    New Lectric XPremium

That PAS issue seems to be common with Lectric bikes. I have a few friends who ride them and they primarily use the throttle since they tell me the pedal assist is rather unreliable. Please post again if the display replacement resolved this for you.

Peter Flax article for Bicycling.com about the challenges presented by DTC ebikes

I find most folks in my town who ride DTC e-bikes from Rad or Lectric are *always* using the throttle (I can hear the difference from the sound of the motor, and it's kind of obvious when the motor is whirring & they're not pedaling). I had hoped that Class 1, pedal-assist-only would be the...

    Priority E Coast

Definitely a great price, but I'm not a fan of the single-speed, no-name hub motor. Is it UL tested? No mention on their web site. I've also found the fenders on the Coast bikes to be cheap, flimsy, and noisy. Fine for an occasional ride to the beach, but it would drive me crazy as a daily...

    We need bakfiets!

These are great around-town bikes. Still hard to find in the US if you're not in a major metro. Trek is entering this market in Europe with their upcoming "Fetch +4" front-loader bike, but I doubt we'll see it in the US any time soon...

    UL Certified Ebikes

After the December 19, 2022 CPSC letter to bike manufacturers, Consumer Reports posted article that said they reached out to 24 manufacturers and 18 didn't respond: It's still a crapshoot. As mentioned above, Bosch motors & batteries are all UL tested (odd that Consumer's didn't mention that)...

    Class 1 ebike reviews?

Is there any way to filter through the reviews to show only Class 1 bikes? There’s a “category” for Class 3, but I haven’t been able to find a similar category for Class 1. Advanced search doesn’t help, and I haven’t found any roundup of Class 1 bikes here in the forums. Why am I asking...

New in-tube battery for EU market Townie Go! 7D EQ model

Good prediction - just got an email from Electra about this new Townie Go! 7D model for the US. It’s priced at $1749.99. They refer to the rear hub motor and integrated battery as “the Electra E-Bike System”...

    Scootdepot refurb bike share bikes

Anyone have the scoop on this company? http://Scootdepot.com They are advertising all over Craigslist (red flag) for their “Pegasus 1” which appears to be a rebranded Jump ebike: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bid/d/cambridge-wholesale-or-distribution/7247871958.html Hard to tell if they’re...

Priority Bicycles just launched the most affordable Gates belt mid-drive e-bike

The new Sandy Pedals bike share scheme on Nantucket island is using these bikes (lots of photos on their Instagram). I'm a bit wary of that Truckrun motor, since it's not covered under Priority's warranty (they only warranty the frame and fork).

Best e-bike for city tour fleet?

The local regs say the bikes have to be labeled as “Class 1” by the manufacturer, which may be challenging since that kind of label isn’t common yet. Most of the bikes that have throttles aren’t great pedal-assist bikes, which is why they have throttles :) Bike shops here don’t do financing or...

    Search reviews by bike class?

I’ve been trying to figure out if there’s a way to search the reviews for only Class 1 bikes. That doesn’t appear in the advanced search options. Any suggestions on how to do this?
