    Video Review: Yamaha UrbanRush

Maybe the motor on your bike is different and not all Yamaha motors are the same, but this article says power drops off significantly after 80 rpm https://ebike-mtb.com/en/the-best-emtb-motor/6/

If you look at this chart, the power drops off well before 90 rpm.

    Lynskey E-Bike Announced

Drop bars are more comfortable for long road rides. You have more hand positions. Locking yourself in one grip position using flat bars leads to numb hands and wrists. Even on my mountain bike, I use bar ends because they give me another bar position. Having some body weight on the arms takes...

1st ebike, which one to pick?

I'd buy a name brand from an established local dealer that will ensure that the bike can be serviced and that there will be parts available for years to come. Ebikes are more complex than normal bikes and you don't want to buy one that can't be fixed when it breaks, and it will break. Batteries...

Tubeless tires--please share experiences and ask questions here!

If you want a tire that's pretty much thorn proof (without going tubeless or Slime tubes), look at the Schwalbe Marathons. No goat head thorn has ever penetrated the Marathons I used. I must have pulled out 10-20 of them over time. The downside is they're heavy, but who cares if you have a heavy...

Looking for a new bike, stromer st2 or...???

    Stromers are works of art.

    Stan's sealant

I disagree with that. I used Schwalbe Marathon tires and they are pretty much impervious to goat head thorns, which will penetrate just about any other tire. I switched to Compass tubeless tires with Orange Seal sealant and saved two pounds of weight on the bike and have lower rolling resistance...

Known Issues & Problems with Orbea Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Thanks Karl. What width tires do you have now? I've got the Mavic UST tires and rims. The tire measures 29mm with a vernier caliper. I really like the ease at which the tires come on and off. I'm thinking of getting 35mm Gravelking slicks when I can find them for sale somewhere to ride gravel...

Known Issues & Problems with Orbea Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Karl, if you pick up the back of your bike and give the wheel a spin, does it rotate freely? Mine acts like the bearings or the freehub is tight, but that might just be some light motor drag maybe.

Known Issues & Problems with Orbea Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

My front brake rubbed but I was able to adjust it out. I do hear some rubbing when pedaling out of the saddle wagging the bike.

Known Issues & Problems with Orbea Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Hey Karl, have you ever seen the movie Top Gun. A line from the movie is "I've got the need. I've got the need for speed." That's you, man! :-) On my Gain, my rear wheel is laced with all outbound spokes. That seems odd to me. How is your's laced?

    Orbea Gain E-Road Bike

Keep in mind that the battery capacity on this bike is 250Wh. I think that's the biggest weakness and all day rides under power assist aren't possible, which is why I'm looking forward to the bottle battery. I've been doing 35 mile rides, averaging 15-16 mph for the ride and have anywhere from...

    Video Review: Yamaha UrbanRush

A problem I see with this bike is the power profile of the Yamaha motor. The power drops off precipitously at higher cadence, and serious roadies crank along at 80-90 rpm. My Garmin says I averaged 85 rpm on my ride yesterday, which is typical as I look back at my records.

    Orbea Gain E-Road Bike

We're fortunate in the US to have more reasonable ebike laws (but I'd rather have no speed governor). 25 kph isn't that bad because it's on climbs that you really need the assist and it's not a problem there. I don't go over 25 kph (15.5 mph) on the flats that often either. Downhill you don't...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

If you put a larger tire on, will that increase the speed? How does the system know the wheel factor of your tire?

TREK Domane+ 2019, thoughts, price, issue?

This bike in the EU is dumbed down for that market. The US model has a bigger motor and a 28 mph top speed (it's a Class 3 bike). The EU model tops out at 15.5 mph. I wouldn't buy any ebike made for the EU market because of that speed cap.

    ebikemotion X35

That's disconcerting. Where do you live because they are available in the US (I bought one)? These systems are really not user serviceable and depend on an authorized Orbea dealer. I bought mine from Mike's Bikes which is a big chain. I would be surprised if they could not repair my system if it...

    Video Review: Yamaha UrbanRush

I'm curious why this isn't a Class 3 (28 mph) bike. Is the motor not powerful enough? It certainly has a big enough battery.
