I came across the Box Prime E-Bike cassette groups. They are 12-50 with a range of 12-14-16-18-22-28-34-42-50. They add one tooth to gears 1-3 over other cassettes. What is the point of this? What does adding a tooth do for the gearing? Is there a benefit?

I would understand what she wants from an ebike first and how she will use it. If she is only going to ride a max of 30 miles ever and doesnt plan to use a high PAS level, i dont think range is much of an issue. If she is going to ride over 60 miles then the dual battery may be your answer...

I was thinking about it from a "programming" perspective if you buy the cable and use the bafang software. From my understanding, there are 9 levels (plus 0) to program. If you have only 5 levels on the display you effectively can program all nine levels but 5 levels only matter. With 9 levels...
