    Upgrade charger (2018)

I stand corrected. However it's interesting they are not that explicit under the warranty section (where I looked because that's what you expressed concern about).

    Upgrade charger (2018)

Well, OK. But I think you create a certain impression with statements like "I can dial in any amount of charge I want" and "My ten dollar timer allows me to slow charge (best for the battery) based on % of charge remaining" You may not be aware of this, but the best Li-Ion chargers actually do...

    Upgrade charger (2018)

What is this $10 timer that is able to sense a Radpower battery's charge level and then varythe charge rate coming out of the Radpower standard charger based on it? I have a bit of electrical background and that sounds almost impossible -- I have a AA/AAA battery charger that can do that, but...

    Battery best practices

I have used that style of charger for decades & they are great for things like Christmas lights etc, that you want to go on & off on a schedule automatically. But for purposes of something you just want to control how many hours or minutes it is on, and you'd start at varying time of day each...

    Rude remarks by non-ebikers

First, wise move not to respond. But I also actually get this. I suspect a lot of people involved in "group rides" view them as communal exercise events (sharing your pain, or however you want to call it). If that is your POV then yeah riding an ebike there is like riding one in an ironman or...

NEW Juiced Models: Rip Current, and Cross Current X; Tariff Pricing Announced

OK. Just idle chatter from me since as I said I just bought a RadCity to get ahead of the tariffs. But I was going from what I saw at the end of the video immediately preceding my post.

NEW Juiced Models: Rip Current, and Cross Current X; Tariff Pricing Announced

CCX looks very intriguing. If tariffs hadn't happened I probably would have held off buying my RadCity a bit longer and might've gotten this instead. Oh well. Kind of odd they didn't include a front fender though, for a commuter.

Late-Life intro to bikes? (Fear of bikes...)

I'm going to interpret things a little differently than some others, and conclude that the issue isn't that your wife needs to learn to ride a bike, it's that she does know (or at least once knew, which implies she could pick it up again a lot easier than someone completely new to it), but is...

How Many Have Received Fines for Class 3?

I feel like I only asked you to do one thing -- go back and reread my comment, more carefully -- and you didn't. You keep going on in your replies to me about what regulations should & shouldn't be, downhill top speeds, etc, while I never discussed that aspect in the first place. All I ever...

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

I've was thinking about this during my ride in today, and would like to elaborate on my previous answer. Because I have the Radcity -- a fairly heavy bike with direct drive and 2.5" tires & maybe not the highest end components, and which I typically ride in PAS 1 outside of hills -- I think I...

How Many Have Received Fines for Class 3?

Please reread my comment with the objective of understanding my intent in making it. I believe I was quite clear that my reservation about allowing ebikes to go 35mph for a sustained distance is that it would cause safety concerns in situations where other bikes were going significantly slower...

    Tell Us About Your Commute.

Mine is only 2.5 miles each way, but only really level in two spots, a 300 yard shortcut on a paved road through a graveyard (through a shallow valley between hills) and about the last half mile; everything else is up, and down, and up, and down, and up ... with the worst hills on a busy road...

How Many Have Received Fines for Class 3?

I'm sorry, but going 35mph in a bike lane/path is irresponsible and dangerous. If one has an ebike capable of that sustained speed then one should just drive in an auto lane, like a scooter. The whole point of creating those bike lanes was to give bicyclists a safe place to go at human-powered...

    Replacement tire

Just a friendly suggestion: consider editing the thread title to better identify the topic? E.g. "Tire upgrade for Radrover?"

How Many Have Received Fines for Class 3?

Ironically my max speed is lower on my ebike than my non-powered one (since I have a direct-drive, it starts to be a large drag when I get above 20). On my old human-powered commuter bike I would sometimes trigger a flashing radar warning > 25mph on one hill on my commuter route if I didn't...

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

It's not that complicated: If you would not have biked before but now do (or would have biked much less), you get more exercise by owning an ebike. If you would have biked nearly as much on a regular bike, then you get less exercise.

    Goggles that fit over eyeglasses?

Hmm, that surprises me, but perhaps I misinterpreted what you meant by "cold weather." Up here I'm sometimes biking in freezing (below zero) temperatures (below zero celsius ... we also get plenty of below-zero Fahrenheit weather here, but I'm too big a wuss to go biking in that!) I wear the...

Who Knew? Switching tires adds 10% range on batteries!

Second this question. After a quick google I see that your original Big Ben's are rated 35-70 psi, while (per your link) these Marathons are rated to 85 psi.

Easy Freewheel (rear cassette) Change on my RadMini Under $50

Thanks for sharing your experience! Just got my RadCity and this was my immediate urge to alter as well, within the first mile of riding. Can you elaborate (with link?) what you are referring to below though? I can't find it on radpowerbikes.com

If you had to choose one lock...

I just bought the Kryptonite "New York Noose" as the best balance I could find between security, flexibility, cost, and weight (though it is still 7 pounds for a 2'6" chain!) I hope to use it like this reviewer described at amazon (see picture)...
