Hello from the NE corner of NV, USA

Hi, and welcome, new also. The Rivendell is gorgeous. I’m finding however that I have very little interest in riding my regular bike now that I have an e bike. It’s just hard to go back. Enjoy the Evelo. I agree there may be another one in your future.

"No fair." In so many ways!

I just got back from a bike ride and I WANT A DIesel truck style air horn.. where I live, there are separate pedestrian and bike paths. They’re both very nice. Does this matter to the walkers? No. Why use the walking path when you can plant yourself square in the middle of the bike path with...

"No fair." In so many ways!

Ive read this amazing book called Old Man On A Bicycle about a 75 year old who peddled across the country by himself on a touring bike. He had to stop the trip and complete it later because he was hit from behind by a car. Someone could just about do the ride with an e bike and a couple of...

Not getting what everyone is doing!

One of the things I really like about this forum is the diversity of voices. Everyone from The tinkerers with road warrior type machines to those who have worked and saved (or have great credit) and are able to purchase one of those fancy German or Swiss bikes that does everything but clean your...

Best bike insurance in the US

I have velosurance, but I haven’t had to make a claim. I hope I don’t. Velosurance is pricey, but I don’t have a whole lot of confidence in my renters insurance, and I can’t afford to replace the bike if it’s stolen. My insurance covers theft, 50,000 in damages to another party in case of an...

Throwing your leg over an E-Bike

Actually they are now called “step through” bikes, although there are bikes out there specifically designed for a women’s proportions (shorter upper body); these may be step through or step over. If you have a bad back, you may need to do some looking, and ride before you buy-/my upper body has...

Throwing your leg over an E-Bike

I hope you are ok. Your step stool idea sounds great. I hope it works. At least we don’t have to worry about our bikes taking a stroll away from the “mounting block” as horses sometimes do.

Boschs Purion - "Change Display Battery"

I am so grateful that others took the time to post about this issue. I’ve had my Raleigh Lore, which has a Purion display, for only 2 weeks, and it’s already sending me that “change display battery” message. The bike is brand new(although last years model) And has not of course been exposed to...

Throwing your leg over an E-Bike

It’s too bad you can’t use a mounting block for bikes the way you can for horses, isn’t it?

    New to the Forum

I’m relatively new also. It seems to help if people know your abilities, the kind of biking you want to do, how mechanically inclined you are, and how much you want to spend. There are a lot of choices, and it can be a little overwhelming.

Why don't I see more women ebikers? Ladies? Thoughts?

It’s true. Thanks to my back, I can’t walk very far, but I can ride. Who knew? All the doctors say to take up swimming, and that’s great, but swimming laps is boring. Bike riding is much more fun.

"No fair." In so many ways!

I actually had it modified. I went to Propel Electric Bikes in Long Beach because I’d read that the owner, Chris, had back issues. He knew exactly what I needed, and basically rebuilt the stem, seat, and handlebars just for me. Here’s a picture of the Iron Horse. Also, the Raleigh comes in a...

Well, the only thing it doesn’t have is a motor.....

Why don't I see more women ebikers? Ladies? Thoughts?

It looks to me as if you want a juiced bike and you are 5’5” or under you are pretty much out of luck. Thanks to the advice of people on this forum, I bought a Raleigh Lore, and had it modified. I love it and it’s expanded by world.

"No fair." In so many ways!

In an older woman, and I’ve only had my bike for about a week (it’s a Raleigh Lore) But so far all I’ve heard is “Cool bike, I’ve been thinking about getting one of those, where did you get it?” And I didn’t expect this, but it’s made me a safer rider on the bike path. My balance is better, and...

Woohoo My E Bike Is (Hopefully) Being Delivered Tomorrow

It’s a Raleigh Lore, and I already have a name picked out (I name all my bicycles). He will be called The Iron Horse. I’ll post pictures when he gets here. Here he is. He looks a little different because I had the stem and handlebars switched out to be more compatible with my back. He rides like...

    Torn between two bikes

I’m waiting for mine now. I’m delighted to hear that you are enjoying yours so much. I’m getting my saddle swapped out for a women’s Terry Liberator, because I’m having the bars and stem modified so I can ride in a more upright position. I’ll let you know how the Terry works out, if you want.

    CCX Accident

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I wish you a swift recovery I think this could happen to any number of people who ride regular old non e bikes. I’ve returned to cycling after a long hiatus, and have been riding and practicing on my regular bike before I get an ebike. I was a semi...

    Torn between two bikes

I ordered a Lore from Propel Bike shop. I’m really excited about getting it. I was very concerned about the class 3 restriction on bike paths. I think the restriction was ill considered by People For Bikes. If I buy a Ferrari, I can drive at 150mph, but I can also drive it anywhere- on any...
