2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Turned a milk run into a 20 mile ride this morning. Hit 1000 miles on it( I got it on Father’s Day). Also hit a new top downhill speed. All before 8am, the rest of the day has to be great . The building is an old one room schoolhouse way back in the woods.

Solution for turning truck tailgate into bike repair stand?

Just realized the topeak stand could be placed on tailgate. I guess I am a little slow. I think the length of the bike across tailgate might be the only issue.

Solution for turning truck tailgate into bike repair stand?

The stand looks like it works well. However you still have to bend a lot to do any significant work. Cleaning your bikes drive train with this setup would be rough. I would be very interested in some tailgate ideas. I sad to say the idea never crossed my mind.

Two are on campus. We are in an area of New York with a less than 1% infection rate. The colleges are not taking it lightly. You must have a negative test to return to campus, students can’t be in other kids rooms, only gatherings are outside and less than 10 people. Class are a hybrid of...

    A Road-Cyclist Thoughts On E-Bikes

I pedaled my road bike 1500 to 2500 miles a year from the time I was 35 yrs until 49 yrs. At 49 I torn my ACL and meniscus, that took all the fun out of road cycling. On a road bike you want to go fast and cover mileage. Puttering around on a road bike ride 10-15 miles slow is not fun and...

    Post ride beverage choices

I just discovered a new (to me) post ride drink. The High ball, it is nothing fancy or new but 2 or 3 shots of bourbon in a tall glass of ice with ginger ale and a twist of lemon is damn refreshing.

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Took a 52 mile ride along Lake Champlain and it’s surrounding area. Saw a large flock of wild turkeys (with many young ones on tow) and beautiful views along the lake. The camera on my phone does not do it justice

    ToughRoad GX E+

I went to flat pedals on my Toughroad. First time in years not clipped in. I actually enjoy is more having the versatility of moving my feet around a bit to alleviate the same pedal arc stresses. Still use cycling shoes for the stiffness but like the extra movement
