Forecast for heavy rain over the coming weekend so took time off from doing the ironing and cleaning ;) to clock up a few kilometres on the eMTB - in fact 29km. Quite a bite in the air at 5°C (41°F) but clear riding. The route took in a mixture of forestry tracks, open land and a river valley...

Must carry tools etc when out riding

Interesting point which raises the question of what method(s) do members use - those that do of course - when cleaning the pins either those at the hub or those to which the battery connects? In another life (my Avatar gives a clue here) we used to clean electrical contracts using an eraser...

I'm not entirely sure that you are actually riding this bike but carrying it. :D:D The road surface in the pictures are wet and strewn with leaves and yet the bike is spotlessly clean. Do you give it a wash and polish before taking each picture? :D

Well you might but if you keep stopping every few minutes to snap a photograph your aim might be a bit hard to achieve. :D:D:D

My Lezyne pumps does have the 'bleed' screw although in the accompanying instructions they do recommend applying Loctite to the valve core thread.

Must carry tools etc when out riding

    1. Point taken. As a matter of interest these sensors are usually the colour of stainless steel over here in Europe. 3. There's nothing worse than repairing a flat (not tube replacement), pump up only to find that the valve core pulls out upon removal of the pump. It happens more often than you...

Must carry tools etc when out riding

I'm not sure whether or not there is an existing thread on this matter although I can't find one by searching. Anyway, if there is I'm sure that someone will point me the way. My last few rides have been in some pretty remote places resulting in a long walk back in the event of simple breakdown...

My wife has this Ortlieb on her eBike and wouldn't be without it. 100% waterproof which is somewhat of a rarity on up-front bags with most being marked as 'water resistant'.

Another nice day, another opportunity for riding the bike. My route took me past the Bosch Research Campus on the outskirts of Renningen, Germany which is approx 5km/3miles distant from where I live. I wonder if the idea for my bikes put-put CX motor ;););) was born here.

Touring e-bike is clean, oiled and safely tucked up for it's winter sleep. However, with the unusually mild weather continuing here in southern Germany (16°C in November, unbelievable) it would have been a shame not to have got the e-MTB out and conduct a couple of tests. This Bulls e-MTB has no...

A recent 5-day bike ride from German border town of Passau along the Donau (Danube) river to Wien (Vienna) in Austria a distance of 350km. The Danube cycle path is a popular destination for European cyclists with many completing the entire length of the river in stages over several years. That...

Electric Bicycle Fatalities & Injuries Are Rising

Here in Germany 700,000 new e-bikes were purchased in 2017 an increase of 20% over the previous year. Unbelievably, or maybe not, a percentage of e-bike owners tune their bikes and in the city of Dortmund one biker was caught in a radar trap doing 70 k/mh whilst another 19 year old racer was...

How to power a USB C phone from a Bosch Intuvia

Perhaps worth noting this which I've just come across..... ***UPDATE*** Bosch eBike Systems have confirmed this mobile device charge feature will not work with all devices. So if you need to check the specific device you require to charge we can do this for you in store. Just bring in your...

How to power a USB C phone from a Bosch Intuvia

Is your cell phone a Samsung, possibly S8, DougH? If so then it should have come with a small adapter (USB Micro B to Micro C). Bosch supply a USB Charging Cable (Micro A - Micro B) with one end marked A and the other B. The end marked A (Micro B) plugs into the Intuvia display whilst the end...

New eBike owner in the UK

OK Richard, Alaskan or Bellingham ..........whatever your handle is today. ;);) R & M are located approx 120km to the North of us so might take a ride up to them sometime. On second thought - an email enquiry might be just as good. Thanks for the tip.

@ Alaskan Dave - can't help but notice the positioning of your folder bike lock which is slipped in at 45° in front of the basket at the back. That doesn't look like a standard housing for the lock, or certainly not any that I've come across and owning the same folding lock, so would you mind...

My Bulls eMTB doesn't have pre-drilled holes for attaching a water bottle frame so I find the idea of the Fidlock 600ml bottle along with their uni-base quite an attractive alternative. Space on the frame is pretty limited as a result of it's shape and also where the battery is fitted meaning...
