Saw the Vado in person, I almost threw up. its a hideous bike, also 2/3 of the bikes had broken rear sections on the rack. Thats disconcerting. If I have to replace my Turbo with a road bike, it will be the Super8
Thats exactly what I did, just changed it back and forth, The instructions from the factory are terrible and so vague. A few added words would make things much easier.
Thank you for your help.
I went to my LBS and was about to purchase a Comp but got talked into looking at the Expert since it was marked down 1000, they had just learned about the price markdown on Wednesday. At only 1000$ difference you get better battery life, better front fork, Kashima Coating oil the rear...
According to the specialized rep I spoke to over the phone recently, parts will still be available up to 5 years after the model has been discontinued. That would mean since the Turbo S is still in production as of 2017 parts will still be available till at least 2022.
Keep in mind that...
Tried to unplug and replug the connector, it was definitely dead.
I plugged it in with my wife base Turbo and it her display worked fine, I then swapped my broken display for hers and it was dead on her bike.
My LBS got me a new unit under warranty.
Probably because the market in Europe is much larger than the home market. Ebikes have really taken off in Europe but they are only a small part of sales in the US. Its a slow growing market however, many cities are starting to adopt more biking infrastructures.
Spoke with a rep yesterday, she assured me warranty batteries will have a different supply vs retail. They will maintain parts for 5 years as they do for all bikes they sell even one model year runs. But then again I’m in the US so YMMV.
