How do you define the ideal electric touring bicycle?

Looks robust but seems to lack the possibility of dual batteries. The total weight capacity seems low.

How do you define the ideal electric touring bicycle?

I'm assuming most "dance with the one that brought you" when it comes to choosing or modifying your ebike for touring. So here are my dance partners, Riese & Muller Nevo in two variants, the GX and the GH. the GX has dual batteries and a Rohloff Hub and the GH carries a spare 400 wh battery...

china trade deal dead ? Permanent tariffs ?

A sad state to be hostage to Trump’s deal making. Maybe the farmers will realize we have a two party system.

R-M Delite rattling noise in motor

I’m having a problem with my Nevo GX, the Rohloff hub is freewheeling. Propel sent a driver to Santa Cruz to pickup the bike and take it to their Long Beach shop. I couldn’t ask for better or quicker response to my problem.

Welcome to Ebike Touring & Travel Forum!

I knew I was a trendsetter, just went for a ride with my small Racktime rear basket (not available in USA) wearing my Chaco sandals and Woolrich socks.

How do you define the ideal electric touring bicycle?

The Surly fills in all the blanks but I never thought of a cargo bike for touring. Seems to have some potential.

How do you define the ideal electric touring bicycle?

I agree this would be the ideal touring ebike. Unfortunately there is no North American dealers. What do you think of the Rohloff R&M Supercharger?

3 or 6 day bike tour of the Shenandoah Valley

The route we selected are around 47 miles. We have 2 batteries each so hopefully we make it back to base camp. We elected to stay in a hotel rather than camp so charging is not an issue.

How do you define the ideal electric touring bicycle?

For reference let’s look at the state of the art non-electric touring bike. The Tout Terrain Silkroad has become the European standard equipped with either the belt driven Rohloff Speedhub 14(526%) or the Pinion P1. 18 midship transmission(636%). The Silkroad uses the global standard 26” wheel...

Welcome to Ebike Touring & Travel Forum!

Yes, I agree the bikepacking gravel bikes are still evolving (with ebikes in the background). What I see in the future are rear and front baskets. Or a suspended seatpost basket. The photo is not a good example, for the baskets are set for shopping, but you can see the rear basket is narrow and...

Welcome to Ebike Touring & Travel Forum!

I would like to thank ebikemom for taking the initiative to start the The Ebike Touring & Travel forum. Since February 2018, when my wife Lynn and I purchased our first ebikes, we have literally been riding in circles. Granted we rode big circles of 25 to 50 miles but still all of our routes...

Nevo GX Rohloff as touring bike

The best solution is to test ride the 26” Nevo. We typically ride 30 to 50 miles in a day, in an upright riding position, without any upper body discomfort. I’m not familiar with the Gazelle but the smaller 26” wheels does make it easier to have your feet on the ground quicker when needed.

Nevo GX Rohloff as touring bike

The 26” Nevo is a very agile bike, as compared to the Nevo GH or GX, and it seems lighter than both. Lynn is 5”5.5”, the seat post is about 2” exposed below the suspension part of the post, making a nice handlebar reach. I have to lift both bikes onto a bike rack and the weight difference is...

    Actually hitting 28mph

With European regulations ebikes need to turn off at 20 or 28 mph. With Bosch you can adjust your wheel diameter by +/- 5% so it seems the manufacturer looks at worse case situation (-5%) and makes that the actual speed cutoff. 20mph =19mph and 28mph=26.6mph
