It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

Then very rapidly you're talking about these "what-if" 2025 updates being for road-only bikes. "Traffic" on a multi-use trail never flows at 35, and putting a 35mph cruising cyclists on a strip of pavement with pedestrians and leashed dogs and kids on trikes is a recipe for disaster! ;)

eh - I have no firm opinion - they are both arbitrary numbers.

It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

My 2025 bike likely wouldn't be dramatically different, but if we're talking wish list enhancements (whether they're feasible in just 5 years or not) -- I'd like a much lighter ebike (as I currently choose to ride without my motor assist many times, depending on the objective and the weather...

    E-bike riding instruction and tips

I don’t think that would’ve helped much here, in these past situations. If I’m in too high a gear when I arrive at a stop, because I totally wasn’t thinking about gears and downshifting as I coasted into the stop, then being in eco (my level 1) won’t be enough assist to effectively compensate at...

    HI

Welcome aboard! Lots of good info on the site and several threads about trikes too. (I’m afraid I don’t have any experience with one myself, to offer input.)

    Chain stretch

Just replaced my chain for the first time, last night... 6,343 accumulated miles over about 16 months (on a rear hub ebike.) When laid out straight on the table at the shop, alongside a brand new chain, the old one was not quite 1/4-inch longer than the new one. Before they took it off the...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Very nice! I grew up in the little town of Bluemont. In a week and a half I’ll be heading out to Rappahannock County for the day, for their annual RAAC artist tour… It’s such beautiful countryside out that way!

    E-bike riding instruction and tips

Pedal assist only here (no throttle)... This wouldn't be ebike specific -- but -- it took me awhile in the beginning (having not been on a bike in decades) to get in the constant habit of downshifting my gears as I approached a stop light or signaled crossing. Despite the assist I had (tho I...

    Tire wear question.

It really varies too much on riding conditions, riding style, tire type, maintained pressure, etc., to say "you should plan to get X miles on your tires". I'm on Schwalbe Fat Franks, and got 2,300 miles on the original rear tire (a rear hub bike) and 2,700 on the replacement rear tire, before I...

    Class 1 vs 3

I could get to and maintain 28 on my class 3 without giving the same pedal input as I’d need to on a pedal bike. (Especially if I use my ebike’s max assist.) That said, after 18 mos ebiking I have not found a valid / continuous use for speeds above probably 20 on average, within my particular...

    Is this real?

Just as an FYI -- while I don't have a Stromer, I did manage, completely by accident (and not even remotely sure how I did it) to reset my bike's Master Odometer. (I routinely reset the trip odometer after every ride.) Never in 18 months of biking with it, had I ever done anything that...

Trek Century Challenge-Resubmitted Question-Who Won?? *REPLIED*

Would love to see what mileage Derik had, and how that rates against the top mileage rider, for kicks. I can't seem to advance past the first 2 pages of entrants, to see if I'd spot a Derik in the roster.

    Stromer and REI

Don't know the answer, but your post prompted me to go look at the REI site just now and view their Stromer lineup. I spotted this comment posted in a User Review for one of the Stromer bikes. Just passing it along - no attempt made by me to validate its accuracy... Great bike but REI is not...
