    Quick question.

Does anyone know the particulars of installing a Grin Technology temp sensor for a brushless DD motor. Even a link would be helpful. Thanks!

    Cycle Analyst

I think I will relax a bit more when my parts actually show up and I can do some hands on experimenting with it. I am kind of excited about the build, I have been thinking about doing this for about a year so it is fun to actually be at the building stage. I purposely went overboard with the...

    Cycle Analyst

Thanks @JRA , the range anxiety was my primary interest in the CA. Although I went out of my way to install a cadence sensor on the bike I am also interested in the throttle enhancement features. I am overbuilding this bike and I like the fine controls you can put on the throttle and the PAS...

    Cycle Analyst

Hey everyone, soon starting to assemble my first project bike. I will be using the Cycle Analyst by Grin Technologies in place of the standard bike display. I chose that device due to its superior capability at monitoring the battery as well as several other nice features. My question is .. does...

Hi tech solution to a low tech issue.

I haven’t been riding much because it has been too cold here in the Northeast, but in the few times that I have demoed this set up it is working beautifully. I have upgraded the screen to a 7 inch tablet and it does look a bit large but it’s much easier to see and gets the job done.

    Reaction to first ebike experience

Hey Kurt, +1 on just about everything you said. Glad you are having fun. I started riding electric last spring and I find the whole E biking experience addictive. From customizing the bikes that I bought stock to currently working on a DIY project bike (2 wasn’t enough yet, lol) this has been a...

That’s excellent @JRA. Can you tell me your max speed on the flat with that system and roughly what type of range and battery you are using. That would be helpful. Thanks.

Hey Joe, that’s good information. I may be going to work with a local ebike shop on this project. From what I have learned recently by using the Cycle Analyst, you can control finely the rate of acceleration on that front wheel. I believe you could then put a relatively hi powered device up...

    Throttle or No Throttle?

I like using my throttle now and again but I love to pedal. Currently working on a DIY project and was encouraged to build a throttle only bike elsewhere... and I won’t do it. The pedaling is fun when it’s assisted. I also wouldn’t do pedal assist only. Why not have it all and let your mood for...

Putting my trust in my friends here.

Hi, the particular bike I have chosen to do this with is... somewhat unique, I should say. It already has unusual riding dynamics but I just really love the bike. I will post a thread when it’s done, in less than a month or so. The main reason I am going with a front wheel kit is that the rear...

About to do a DIY. it’s going to have to be front wheel. Rear dropouts are 120 mm. Geared or direct drive? Wattage? I am 230ish. Hillclimber is mandatory but I wanna go fast on the flats too and far. At least a 35 mile round trip. Not interested in mid drives. Been looking for the best kit for...

    Cool, thanks!

    Rim width.

That’s interesting. I see a lot of kits featuring 3 and 4 inch rims. I don’t usually see them advertised in mm. Forgive my ignorance but how many inches wide would be necessary? I’m trying to find a kit for a rear wheel with a 24 inch rim and a 3 inch wide tire. Thanks JRA.

    Rim width.

How wide of a rim is necessary to support a 3 inch tire on a 24 inch rim

Please recommend a kit for me.

As it turns out, I am going to require a 24 x 3 inch rear wheel kit. I am not particular as to whether it is direct drive or geared. 1000 watt minimum. Still researching.....
