    New Ride1Up Cafe Cruiser

New model from Ride1Up, the Cafe Cruiser. I saw this in an online article the other day. Since I like the cruiser style ebikes I thought I would post this here. Interesting design. https://ride1up.com/product/cruiser/

    hi everyone

Welcome, s-k! I’m up in the “valley”. I plan on making a trip down there before it gets too hot to check out paved trails there for a change of scenery. I heard ebikes weren’t allowed on the ‘Loop. Is that true? Addendum: I just found the ‘Tusconloop.org website. Ebikes are allowed if they have...

    Your e-bikes

How wide is the spacing of the rear wheels? Where I live the bike lanes are about 24 inches wide.

    Your e-bikes

That’s a good way to have company while riding (and help with the harder parts of a ride). Nice setup.

    Your e-bikes

Photos of where people ride their ebikes with maps and routes. OP wants to see other member's bikes. I'm interested in seeing what others are riding along with upgrades and mods. The "travel" photos are nice to see but the maps and routes do little for those who don't live there or travel the...

    Starting my ebike purchase journey

Personally, I would spend the $ and go for the bigger battery. More range. After riding a bit you will find yourself going on longer rides. Good to have the extra range. You can accessorize it later as time and $ allow. Plenty of rear bike racks and lights available.

Setting up hoist and repair stand

Definitely makes it easier to get these heavy ebikes into the repair stands. I stepped up my game and got a portable Warn electric winch. I have the same repair stand and it works quite well.

    Cleaning e bike

Just some good detail spray for the frame and rims with a microfiber towel. If needed some non-corrosive degreaser for the mechanicals with some detail brushes and rags. Remember to relube the mechanicals.

    Cleaning e bike

Some auto detailing brushes help a bunch for the tight spots.

    Cleaning e bike

I use the same auto detail spray I use on my vehicles for the bikes to keep them looking nice and shiny. I found that Simple Green Bike cleaner works well with the mechanicals. Non corrosive too.

    Comfortable and cushy handgrips?

I had problems with my hands going numb after several miles of riding (Cruiser Style). I bought a pair of Ergon GP1 BioKork grips and have been very happy with them since I installed them. Bought a second pair for my other ebike. Nice cushioning and flat area to rest my palms.Looks good too...

    Handlebar grips and mirrors

There are a multitude of grips available so it would be hard to say which would be best for your wife and her ebike. I do prefer the lock on style grips with removeable end plugs. Hafny mirrors have a very good selection of different styles of mirrors and they get high ratings from users. I went...

Aventure Accessories/Equipment (**i.e. bike stand; vehicle rack)

+2 on the Hollywood Sport Rider HR1500. I purchased the Thule Easy Fold XT. My beach cruiser style ebikes are large and heavy and the wheelbase of the bikes were too long for the Thule rack. Lost $ selling it. Purchased the Hollywood rack and it works perfect. Holds two large 80lb. ebikes perfect.

    Flat tire tips.

I bought a small portable electric winch that can be hung from a hook on one my rafters. Attach two straps to raise and lower the ebikes then attach the bike to the repair stand (more steady to work on bike). My bikes weigh 72 lbs. and this makes it a whole lot easier to lift and lower them.

Aventon Pace 500 review at 1000 miles

Good to hear that you are enjoying your ride. My butt starts hurting after about an hour of riding as well. Majority of my riding is on paved streets. I have front suspension fork and Cloud 9 seat but my posterior still hurts a little after prolonged rides.

Is my locking plan good enough?

I very seldom leave my ebike anywhere unattended. I've planned for those times when I may go to a store or decide to stop for a drink or bite to eat. I park my bike close to the entrance of the store where there is a lot of foot traffic (people able to see the bike). I'm usually in the store for...

    Indicator lights on e bike

I purchased two sets ($50 each) for my ebikes but haven’t installed them yet. Playing around with them the magnets feel pretty strong. Most of my riding is on paved roads and some hard pack. I don’t think I will have any issues with them falling off. In lowlight/night time they are pretty bright...
